Finally took some pictures. I'm not very good with a camera. I've also added a windshield and a sissy bar since taking these pics.
A dog had his chain reduced one link at a time, every few days, until his chain was so short he could barely move. He never resisted because he was conditioned to the loss of his freedom slowly, over time. Are we in this country becoming like the dog?
Just bought my first bike - a used (950 miles!) 2004 Ninja EX500D for $3550!
Haven't picked the thing up yet and here's the frustrating thing: I won't have my license for another month, since the earliest MSF course I could get was early August and then there's a delay of a couple weeks before they mail you the road test waiver. I was going to wait to buy a bike but this one was right in town and could be delivered to my door, and the owner is moving away and had to sell it, so I got it at a great price.
The down-side to the great price is that I have to walk the thing across the street twice a week (alternate side of street parking) but I can't actually ride it yet! d'oh!
Hello all. First post here. On Friday I put a deposit a 2004 EX500 with 10,000 km from a dealer. Silver with orange decals. 3 cosmetic-only scratches on the plastic, but none on metal. The bike looks to be in good shape - dealer replaced the rear tire, changed the oil, inspected brakes, etc, and has done the mandatory safety inspection. Since it is too cold (for normal people) to ride in the winter in Ontario, the dealer extended their normal 3 month warranty until June 30, 2008.
This is my 4th bike, but I sold the last one 25 years ago, so I am pretty much a novice. In October I completed my motorcycle training course, and the EX500 seems like an appropriate bike for me at this stage.
