Jeeeesus. Why not just bank the money and have $15,000 to shop with when you graduate? My. God.

Well, I'm sure it's mom and dad's money so it doesn't matter.

I hope the kid wrecks it (has the bike tip over on a windy day) but he comes out unharmed, except for his pocketbook.

27, just started riding, had to get insurnace before taking the MSF as there is a delay between taking the course and getting the waiver and I can't park the bike on the street without registering it and I can't register it without insurance, et cetera et cetera...so this will go down a bit in a few weeks.

2004 Kawasaki Ninja EX500D, $500 deductible for comprehensive & collision, inc'l roadside assistance and $1000 of accessory coverage.

$626/year through USAA/Progressive ... sounds like a lot, but it's in Manhattan (!). Geico wanted over $2000 for the same quote!

I just got my bill for my second year of insurance.

I went from about $412 for the first year to $250 for the second year.

That's:

$250/year, 1987 Virago 535, 2nd year of riding, full coverage.

I'm 26.

300. I forget what all is in it - I know I'm covered in accidents that I'm at fault with as well as dumb "O Ring" mistakes wheres theres no second party. And roadside (now). Definitely get that roadside.
