Your speedo is wrong. Your speedo is almost always wrong. You learn that one pretty early. They are hopeful and often about 10% wrong. You can get a speedo healer so you can learn your proper speed.

Even the big monster bikes are only putting out so much. When we start moving into triple digits the laws of physics start to catch up with our motorcycles.

I would bet money that when the previous owner changed out the front or rear sprocket (or both) he geared that bike DOWN and not up. That trades top speed for more acceleration. Depending on how the speedo works it could hose up that too.

How do you figure we have the same size head?
Helmet switch you refer to in your first thread is why one would think that...
He said: "How fast were you going on that thing son?" I was like, "coulden't tell ya officer, I wasn't driving it". He said "oh yea"? I saw this yellow helmet on this bike (the helmet I was wearing). I said we just switched helmets now. "Suure you did. You were driving this bike" he cried.
I'm not sure why you would switch helmets... to me unless the helmet is a communal or loaner it's a personal thing.
Lol, it's funny how many people are flaming me for this thread. It's this simple. If the bike wasn't going 165 mph then that's what it read. And the speedo is wrong.

Bam Done, Close thread. Wtf is the problem?
I may be a newb here but I'm learning from your mistakes. basically the reasons you are being flamed are 1) your story is holy like swiss cheese and smells worse then limburger, the reasons why have already been pointed out to you. 2) you've asked for advice here and didn't listen. 3) you've already had the cops run you down once.

Provided your tale is true: (doubtful)

You should be in jail and so should your dad. You put many lives in danger for your own kicks. Ever think about what would happen if you hit something in the road unexpectedly or something gets kicked off of a tire and hits you? Let's say you're doing 150 and you hit a car. What happens to the people in that car? What if you cause a huge pile-up? How many people would be killed or injured?

You shouldn't be anywhere NEAR a motorcycle - you're a huge danger to others and completely irresponsible. My only hope is that when you do take yourself out that nobody else in injured.

QFT.

I don't believe the helmet switch story and I don't believe the bike switch story either.

If I was doing 165mph I probably wouldn't pull over for the cops.

That's b/c

1/) You wouldn't see or hear the cop
2.) The cop would watch you go by, and say ""fudge" it" or at most call it in.

If he didn't get you with a gun or by pacing you then, at least in any state I've been in, there's no way he can write you a speeding ticket. Contest it and it goes away.

A new exhaust and a resprocketed bike isn't a real performance mod. It's numbers are going to be very close to stock, especially at high speeds.

Just because it's a performance machine doesn't mean that it can go super fast. As you approach higher speeds the amount of power it takes to go faster increases exponentially.

Most if not all speedos are inaccurate, especially on bikes. If you want to see how far off it is then hook up a bicycle computer. Put in the diameter of the wheel and you have a $20 way to see that the people on this forum with years of experience know what they are talking about. Those computers are good up to 200 mph and there's no way your bike goes that fast.

That's the "procreating" funniest thing I've read it forever.
