From September 2008. A friend and I went out to do some evening and night photography. We went to Stanley Park and were blown away by the quality of light that evening. The picture was taken from Stanley Park seawall looking toward Coal Harbour. It's sort of at the edge of downtown.

Is Vancouver really as beautiful as you make it look? (Honest question, not being a smartass.)

Yes and no. It's the location first that makes it such a beautiful place. We are right on the ocean and across the straight are the mountains. This is looking across to West Vancouver (one of the most expensive places in Canada to live.....well the big homes on exclusive lots on waterfront property are and the big homes up in what is known as the British Properties. You gotta be rich to live up there. Anyway....it's just a quick drive or transit trip over the bridge from downtown.

Take a look....
This is from Jericho beach looking across the water to the mountains. In winter we usually get more grey days than blue sky sunny days....so it was a real treat to see the fresh new snow on a clear day.

Like every city Vancouver also has its ugly side.

Wow. Again. I think I'll have to put BC on my places-I-wanna-see-someday list. Thanks, Blues!

Those did come out pretty well.

But for the love of God, man, straighten them first next time! ;)
