I'm another one of those folks who say, "It's not a question of IF you fall down. It's only a matter of WHEN." Hopefully, it will be slowly, quietly, and in a private place.

My worst one was hitting a patch of sand at night as I was turning at an intersection. I was wearing a brand new pair of Levis and as my right knee hit the pavement, that nice deep indigo denim ground a tatoo into my knee that took over twenty years to disappear. I was lucky that my head & hands didn't suffer any worse than they did. This happened during my "brain dead" stage when nobody could tell me anything about helmets and gloves and stupid stuff like that.

Remember - shiney side up 8)

Been down three times: 1) grabbed front brake practicing slow figure eights. 2) trying to set the center stand. 3) backing out of patio hit a sprinkler head that had just popped on, broke sprinkler head got a wet "o ring" lifted bike changed clothes went for a ride.

Moral: pay attention to the small stuff !!

done it too many times to count, a sport elite on the back and a knobby on the front were the cause of my 1st broken bones, 3, in the left foot, next was honda 175, through a green light, vw bus decided it was a good time for a left turn, 6 months in a wheelchair, more broken bones, bought a 400-4, vw rabbit, same situation, rebroke left tib n fib, ok, the fun ones, making a left turn, yellow light on a GPz 305 onto pch, somewhere round midnight, a tad fast, slid from the crosswalk to the parking lines 60 ft away, broke shift lever, still managed to beat the traffic, and move on..
Above the rockstore on Mulholland hwy, beat the gpz 550 all day, had him on my azz again when the rear end came around, strait line to the gravel, proper gear not a scratch, dummy on gpz dumped it, watchers got pissed because his bike had slid towards me?, he got his azz kicked while i was laughing bout the laydown, dint know till i stood up, and then he expected ME to fix his bike, ok, there are others, but i dont wanna bore ya..............
