1992 katana 1100.. dumped it the third day I had it.. going 60 around a corner after passing a friend.. front tire locked.. let off and the wobble started, and I hit the dirt :(

1980 Kawa KL250 Trail, did both on that bike. Thing would go anywhere.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

Started first time back in 1963 with a Honda trailblazer - 90cc. Then the next year added a Honda 500CB -

I was 13 and got a RUPP 5HP minibike. It had "upside down forks!" Of course the damping was garbage. Thing threw chains EVERYTIME I jumped it! Full suspension. A "torque convertor" went about 30 mph. Had it for a year, then got a new Yamaha MX100. (1973) Been a sickness ever since...

I started on the street on a 1985 Honda VFR700R Interceptor. I'm sure it was a lot more of a bike than I needed to be starting on, but luckily(?) it was 10 or 11 years old and in bad enough condition that it was underpowered compared to where it should have been. Unfortunately it handled pretty poorly too (center of gravity way too high on that bike, imho).
... I never have ridden a dirtbike. That would be cool to try sometime though.

A good starter would be the Hyosung Alpha Sport GV250 Classic

They use this bike at alot of the schools.
