Amen to that. I got family up there in Potter county. God's country. Now that we have the bikes, the wife's been dropping hints about doing a Route 6 run next summer. Think she wants to go clear across the state!Bubba wrote:Rt. 6 northern Pennsylvania. Especially in the fall.

There is some road in Kentucky...
I want to say it is the A1 Highway... Goes from Eastern Kentucky to Lexington (?), following the Ohio River.
Never been on it on a bike, but it is (was?) nicely banked, sparsley travelled, no or few traffic lights, and built for a car to go 90mph. It winds and has hills. A few places where you'll see some fallen rocks.
Oh, BTW... I don't remember ever seeing a cop on it

Don't think of it as a stop light. Think of it as a chance-to-show-off light.

Surprised no one has yet mentioned the The Dragon/US 129 area. We just got back from a weekend trip and while it's not the longest road in the world, DEAR GOD it is one heck of a challenge and a *lot* of fun!

The best Roads in India would be-
NH-1 = National Highways 1 --- 1200km long approx... 3 Lane smooth highway ... no bumps have I ever found ... best possible scenic beauty found..
NH-14 -- 300 km Long
Execlent roads... but problem is tht u would hate riding in summers due to high temperature of 45-55 degree celcius
Mumbai - Pune express way -- 4 lane one way road... 600 off KMPH
no speed limits here
Have seen Ducati 999rr vs ZX14r few days back .... ZX 14r was doing 320kmph constantly for the whole highway coz of lack of traffic here ...
999 was modded and was also doing the same while i was driving my SLK 500 at top speed 288kmph
was unable to catch up with them

From Weillerbach to Eulenbis. It is not very long but it is one of the more picturesque sites I have found in Germany.
Another good one is the B270 from Katzweiller to Idar-Oberstein. It is a two lane federal highway but for the speed and twists make it a good one.

Wow I have been on the Blue Ridge the Dragon and Highway 12.. All fantastic. In my area I have roads that rival even those masterpieces of asphalt
Central California is littered with Roads like:

A few are mine, but most of these shots are from Pashnit.com, (IMHO) the best place to get information on California roads.

I vote for the Glacier National Park also. It's awesome but if you suffer from vertigo it may be a challenge. Verticle cliffs up on one side and down on the other. I rode it years ago and one thing I noticed was the numerous places where campers/motorhomes had scraped the cliffs in certain areas when they got too close to the inside shoulder.
There are numerous pull-outs where photo opportunities abound.
