wow...it happened to me once...but it was a junker car that we ripped through corn fields and stuff...not nearly as traumatizing...


but back to the seat...i have a memory foam connection...how do you think that would work...i was thinking...shave the bottom layer down a little and use 2 or 3 inches on top of the camping pad?

The seat it looking pretty good. Thanks for posting the how to. I'll be refering back to it if/when I attempt something like that for my bike.

Thanks, guys. I think there is a use for memory foam...just need to experiment with thickness, combos with the other foam, etc. I don't know for sure that mine is right, but I'll change it if it isn't. You can do the same. I know too soft would be bad. Mine compresses alot, but is firm once it does, so it will be interesting to see what that means. Today, I fixed all the little gremlins in the seat pan that made it hard to stretch the vinyl... just got around to evening up the lower edges. Also I did most of the finish work on the part behind the cushion that sticks up about an inch and a half. I hadn't really messed with it at all since I closed it in with fiberglass. BTW, The tail surface is now pinhole-free! Finally! The black shows things you can't see in the primer, and It's been a bear getting those buggers out. Especially with Labor day company...had to kind of pluck away at it when time permitted. It's really like glass now, thanks to a frustrating sand-down almost to the first primer layer. I did that today to get out some frustration from the truck thing, and it really paid off. I just decided to go for it, with 240 grit wet. After a grey coat, i dry sanded with 320, and checked for holes...GONE! It's in black primer again, now, and I have a little more to do on the very front, by the seat. hoping to get it painted tonight.

where did you get the medium density grey foam? online? stores? I want to use my stock seat pan, but change the shape of the seat. Right now my bike has a big butt.

Masking for stripe is next! May try a different stripe design, need to drw it out first.

Well, I put a wide stripe down the middle of it, and really didn't care for the way it drew attention to the hump where it turns back down to the taillight. So, I'm going to leave it gloss black and come up with a small silver/champaigne graphic of some kind to put off center near the back on each side, somewhere. I'll have to think about it. I thought the triple stripe would look good (disappointed), but it gave it a blocky look...kindof fought with the curvatures I worked so hard to smooth into each other. Back to the drawing boar, art-wise. Meanwhile, another coat of paint is drying to cover the stripe. Tomorrow, more wetsanding, then I'm just going to buff it, put the seat on and go. It's okay, because I have some work to get caught up on with the holiday and a day and a half wait for parts . Tomorrow's a big day to get this week in the bag. See Ya.

Thanks again for the support on the truck thing, guys. I fixed it this morning, and boy, did it come apart hard! My forearms are tired from swinging the 3 lb. hammer to drive the old knuckles out of the pitman arm and steering box arm (whatever it's called). Not much room to swing it, so it took a lot of blows.
