Some of those choppers are absolute works of art and others are just "naff". Notice how people dress as per the bike style, I do not want a chopper because I am not into dressing like the village people.

Southern Steel is probably one of the best shows. .
One of the greatest ways to gage how a company treats its employees is by the employee turnover rate. Boyd has more than his share. On the other hand, them southern boys seem to enjoy their jobs without the strife (real or manufactured) of the OCC and Codington crews.

I agree, the retro look bikes created by Southern Steel are the bomb and I would love to have one.

i like how they always say stuff like 'ya we wanted something totally new so we built a frame' then a few minutes later they go on to explain how they Built the frame. they sketched some stuff and sent it off to a frame company that finialized the design and actually build it. basically the occ guys give a ruff draft then let the people with real talent do the work and occ takes credit 'the frame we built'.

after a while all their bikes blend together to me. same stretched out wicked long bike with the front tire way out there. a massive rear tire and massive engine. just basically they same bike over and over with different corporate themes stuck on it to make the show an hour long commerical.

I used to really enjoy this show but, like many of you have said, it's become repetitive. It's obvious most of the show is staged and exaggerated from the arguments of jr. and sr. to the deadlines. Sometimes they come up with some supercool bikes and other times they come up with something rediculously gaudy.

i love hotrods, bike and car kustoms

Im currently building a 28 A model and after that I plan on doing my own bike.

especially love the guys who push the envelope and go places rarely visisted.

sure most of the time the rods, cars and bikes end up impracticle, but hey if we were all doin the same stuff it would get uber boring very quickly.

Sure OCC is a bit cheesy but anyone who does any kind of modding whether its my taste or not, gets my repsct and thumbs up always.

not a flame just an opinion

Well OCC started out in a small garage....& from what I can tell right from the beginning Paul Jnr was being hammered on by his Dad, how he can stand this abuse without going insane (or worse) is incredible!

OK, so now some people think it's a put on & perhaps it is to an extent, but it's still abuse! The bikes he produces under such pressure are fantastic, he is truly an artist wether you like his bikes or not. Paul Snr's bikes I'm not into though. Anyway....The Black Widow Bike is a perfect example of a Master Piece.

Now they have the money behind them I see that they do way more 'In House' fabrication & that's a good thing.

Not only that the show is entertaining I reckon. It's better than those crappy soap operas people watch & think is real life....
