It is an Acewell.

It has more features than the stock dials and is a quater of the size.

I finally got out to the track again and after a lap or two remembered how much fun it was and that I should do it a lot more often.

It was a bloody hot day and after 7 sessions riding flat-out the bike and I are rather tired. The good old Bandit did everything asked of her and gave some faster bikes a real run for their money.

All in all it was a good day with only two minor incidents, but I must say it is never fun to be hooking through a tight left-hander and seeing a nice new Speed Triple lying on its side and the rider just getting up off the ground. He was OK but the bike cracked an engine cover so his day was over.

Here is one shot of the Bandito in action:

I can't wait to see the ones the photographers took as they were in great positions all day.

Mintbread, great writeup. Congrats on your baby boy and getting yourself going again after some boo-boos. Working on the bike reminds me of working on mine in the garage...itching to get it outside...though I wish I knew bikes, my bike, more in depth so I could change some thing around. All in time, when I can get a service manual translated lol

Have fun! Great shot at track day. How do you like the new bar setup?

It took a lot of getting used to but I think I have achieved my aim of putting more weight on the front end and the handling has improved.
It is still rather uncomfortable for longer rides so I think I will just change back and forth between the clip-ons and mx bars depending on the riding I am doing.

The track day was at Oran Park Raceway south of Sydney.
The layout is great with a nice mix of left and right handers with a shortish straight that suited my bike nicely.

Nope, never been to Phillip Island. Too far and too cold.

how many miles total is that track?

the bridge part is interesting. but isn't that dangerous? it's straight but still... it would suck to crash there and fall down below.

anyway... phillip island is world famous. i just figured i'd ask how it is if you have already ridden there.

we have a world famous track here too, laguna seca, which is in North Cali.

there are some trackday orgs that has some trackdays scheduled on it. i'd like to try laguna seca at least once just bec it's world famous, probably next year. my only experience w/ laguna seca is on video games. LOL!

My boy at his first track day:

Sleeping soundly behind the pits with bikes running at full noise down the main straight a few metres away.
