It most certainly is NOT an autogyro.
Autogryo : an aircraft that is supported in flight by unpowered rotating horizontal wings (or blades); forward propulsion is provided by a conventional propeller [syn: autogiro, gyroplane]

Well said Old-N-Slow it is not an AutoGryo. However choppers killed the auto gryo market.Which is a shame because they are great machines and very very safe.

Assuming you could work out all the design flaws/'conceptual operations' of the AirBike, I'd give it a go.

Heck, I'm totally game for piloting a AirScooter, or even a Chopper- I'd like to get a pilot's license sometime in my life.
But how practical is that for city dwellers? Are we gonna start seeing Helipads built on top of condos?

If the AirScooter offers two hours of flight, that puts you at a 1-hour radius, unless you can find landing strips/fueling areas- But even then.. you just land at an airport, and then walk to a gas station, and walk back with a full tank, or what?
(Ooh. And there's a reason that Linux is used increasibly by corporations and inside many standard digital electronics- like TV Cable boxes, and routers. Linux > Windows.

Unfortunately, we will never see personal aircraft for the general population, unless it is completely auto-piloted.
People can barely keep the birth rate higher than the traffic-death rate with cars.... if you let the average motorist loose with a flying vehicle and 3 dimentions to screw-up in, the carnage would be awesome and total. It's dangerous enough out there now, can you imagine what it would be like if every soccermom and cell-phone useing businessman was flying around up there? Scary....

No....You just land at the Gas station Heli-pad/Airbike type area.
