Actually it is legal in Texas now, passed in September '05. The provisions state it is only legal to do if the traffic speed is less than 25 mph, and you cannot be going more than 15mph faster than the traffic. Also you can only do it 'between lanes' of traffic, not on the shoulder. That being said, I do not see many people doing it (I live in Houston), other than the biker cops who use the left hand shoulder! I have been tempted to try it a few times, but as others have mentioned here, most 'cage' drivers do not know it is legal and may try to block you off. :frusty: I have the link to the bill bookmarked at work, will post it later.
