i actually rode my sportbike today.

but crap... the brakes are still going away. my mechanic said the caliper looks good and he doesn't see any leaks. i might just have to trust him on the master cylinder thing and then i'll blame him if that doesn't work since he said it's guaranteed to fix my problem.

I worked today. What else is new? The only nice part of the day was that I went to lunch with a friend. Yay! :)

Today I sold my 250 Ninja. I sold it to a new rider that showed up in shorts and 'flip-flops'. He did let his friend ride it home for him, who had a tee shirt, jeans and tennis shoes on, but no helmet. My last ride on it was to the bank where I had two bills of sale notarized. His friend smirked when he asked me if this was my first bike, then looked shocked when I told them about the Buell, the Concours's, and the BMW. I did recommend taking the MSF course.

Oh man, that sucks. Don't you just hate selling your "pride and joy" to people like that???

Kinda ironic. Was test riding a bike for a friend (looking for his first bike, ended up on a NOS 2009 VStar 650 brand new OTD for $5308), and found a set of keys in the middle of an intersection. Seeing as I was on a low slung cruiser, I grabbed them as I went by. Pretty sure I looked even more awesome than I already do while riding...

Anyway turns out the ring had keys to both a Chevy and a Harley on it. When I got home, searched CL, and in the lost and found section someone was looking for HD and Chevy keys near where I found them. Returned them and the dude almost cried in happiness. He put them on top of his wife's car as he was talking to her and she pulled off. She went all the way around town, including 2 highways and the interstate twice before getting home. They fell off (miracle of miracles) 2 blocks from her getting home.
My only claim to fame is that I have never lost my keys or wallet (sunglasses are another story). However having a teenage daughter taught me a valuable lesson (after finding out from AAA that my free service was maxed out due to 'lock-out' calls .... hmmmmm). I m now obsessed with having spare keys EVERYWHERE: Hidden on vehicles, outside the house, with trusted friends, and a house key in my wallet. I thought that I would teach my daughter a lesson by making her pay the $45.00 for her last lock-out, but somehow I think I ended up paying for it in the form of "can I borrow (read 'have') $20.00 ... With this being said, are us dads really that easy when it comes to our daughters?!?
