c'mon shorts step it up :D
Nothing wrong with have personal standards and sticking by them. Projecting those standards upon others, well.....

Step it up? To what? The ultimate Mormon standard? Thanx but one wife, related to me by marriage alone, is plenty for me.

Sorry not trying to jump on you or anything, I know your just joking around, but this type of religious superiority(shared by all religions to some extent) just confirms to me that religion is the work of the Devil. God would not have anything to do with something so evil. And that's not to say that people can't dig up enough evil on their own. We are pretty good at that. Who else could dream up murder, rape, pillage, exclusion and bigotry and call it 'God's Work' but our own warped brain matter?
Unfortunately almost every religion has had this happen... kill in the name of God. This day and age it is the muslim extremists who kill people who do not convert to islam. I wonder what group will be the next to do so.

I am agnostic... I believe there is a higher being but I also take the writings about God with a grain of salt since it is written by man but I do try to learn from the good parts of different scriptures but I'm far from goody two shoes.

Maybe I should create a new religion called Cynicism as I do not trust much of mankind any more.
One thing you can count on: You push a man too far, and sooner or later he'll start pushing back.

whoa. No I'm not projecting my standards on anyone. What I was implying was "you also have standards, right?" until she said she was sarcastic. Id rather never bring up religion as it is a very hot topic, but shorts just said, well you can just read what she said; and my responce to her.

I don't want to comment on your second paragraph, as I am getting upset.

Not that you said it was, but it is not the custom of the LDS religion to kill anyone ever, in the name of God. Or kill / harm in general.

I'm really sorry you don't trust "mankind" much anymore. I have seen some horrible things, but there are still good people out there! Trust me

I just logged on to say that I would appriciate it if you guys would STOP directing intrusive comments to shelly.
I don't want my sister struggling to defend herself in front of a bunch of jerks about what makes her happy. You take one path we take another. get it?

now, I'm glad she's gone right now or else she'd never let me type this.
you can now start calling me names like overprotective etc.

I know exactly what you mean, but on the same token, if something made you really happy, wouldn't you want to try and share the happiness?

I gotta disagree with ya there Buzz, whilst I'm not religious myself, its not the religion thats inherantly evil, its the small minority of people who practice it, but don't understand it, warping it for their own personal agendas.
Most religions are supposed to be about leading by example, not enforcing anything upon people. Teaching people to be nice to others. Again, it is the people who see what they want to see in the religions contexts, not what is actually there, that give them such a bad reputation.

I don't think it was intended that way, but I can see how things can be read in a multitude of ways on this internet. If my post above causes offense, it is completely unintentional.

If someones hurt, I respect that you're trying to do something about it, no name calling required.

Now no-one had better post after this one, until I've finished enjoying the moment

Uh - no one makes you defensive. Its her option to react as she chooses. You should chill out. ;)

How about we go back to ramen noodles and peanut butter sammiches - much more interesting and not nearly as flammable.....while we are at it, we can dress up in pink prisoner outfits and sing incarceration songs together
