The 4 Rules:
1. A gun is ALWAYS loaded (treat it as such)
2. Never point the gun at anything you do not intend to destroy
3. Finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target
4. Be aware of your target and that which is beyond it.
Safety is #1 when it comes to guns (hand or long). If you go to shops where it isn't, quickly turn around and leave and find a better place.
We went to the range quite a bit back in the States. I was there at least once a week. At our last station we were members at a sportsman's club so we had the key code to range and could go anytime for free! That was a good deal they had there. Anyhow, we weren't there too long to get into the monthly competitions. Hopefully next station we can do the paper plates and bowling pin contest.
