You could launch the map eventualy as part of the site, that way next time you don't have to poll for location, it'll already be there...

that would all depend if I still have this pos bike. If I get a new bike no prob, if not don't let me hold you all up.

Ya know, I tried to use Frappr again, but it really is not very friendly. I created a map and had no way to link it here automatically. I can paste the link to click on it, but it will not link so it shows the map. Maybe -Holiday will figure out that part.

Either way, leaving what ever polling tool up for a week or so will be a good idea to allow everyone who would be interested to participate. Not everyone comes to this site every day. Unlike myself, some people have a life.

So with the poll a day old, and several states created upon request, I still have some states listed with zero votes. I hope whoever asked for those states will come back and vote.

I'm going to update this thread at least once a day for the next week so it will keep moving to the top. I didn't want to make it a sticky, since it is really an informal thread to determine regional distribution.

Since we haven't come up with a better way to display the data, I'll open a new thread and lock this one some time next week so we can discuss the next step.

You know, I work in the computer industry as a software support guy, and I still don't see how this is all that useful or easy for the less computer literate. Someone is going to have to sell me on why frappr is going to help us here. Plus we wanted to have the map showing here on this site, not have to go to another site, and I could not figure out how to get that to work. It would work if this was MySpace.

I think I'll just use paint and manually enter the data once I close the thread next week.

Well, it's a start, and it is possible to put some data into the website if it were to get it's own page, it has a box with all the html coding needed. Just tell me so and I'll get the coding for you.

Alrighty then - anyone who hasn't participated in this poll, who might consider joining a regional event if it was nearby, please place your vote. I will close the poll at the end of the week.

Alberta is winning :P
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.
