All joking aside, I'm sure in areas with many on and off ramps it's not a bad idea to stay out of the right lane, but on open highways with many miles between exits, it tends to hold up traffic if people who drive slower than most traffic hang out in the center lane.

Perhaps your state has on and off ramps quite frequently, in many places it is not that way.

I agree with you that generally when you're slower you should stick to the right. I by no means travel the speed limit on the regular basis. But in the situation that was presented on the board, none of that really applies. It's pretty clear who was in the wrong, and it wasn't the dude in the center lane.

Going those speeds on a road is highly dangerous, day or night, whether you realise it or not.

Still at least in an ambulance, blood will colour coordinate with your suit and bike bits, so its not all bad.

However, I've noticed this about myself, that I am extremely polite when I'm off my bike and carrying my helmet, or wearing my jacket, I guess I expect people to expect I'm gonna be an "O Ring" so I try not to be (or be my normal self anyway ) anyone else ?

On open highways with many miles between exits, there aren't any center lanes. It's either the left lane or right lane. Center lanes are only used in high traffic urban areas.

Not here, I-4 is six lanes all the way from Tampa to Orlando, I think it's about 80 miles. There are long stretches of highway with no exits. I've found that the right lane is the least traveled lane and best for making time. I still think it would be better if people going slower than the flow of traffic would stay to the right, so the majority of us wouldn't have to keep chosing right lane, left lane, right lane, left lane.
