Thanks to everyone who has wished me well.
I have to go back in to hospital tomorrow as still have pain.
Talking of pain please can I have my blog back. PJ and Phil if you wish to email copy me in but not on the daily grind - thanks.
I am looking for pics of you guys back in 80s and phil I got one of you more recently (2 weeks ago) to show the world the change.
w/c 3/9
travelling in around Bridgend and a Ducati passes as if I am plodding along (I'm around 85) Well that got me back for passing one the week before.
Speed cameras at Pencoed and Cardiff - get them early in the month and the quota is met and they can relax later in the month.
Join M5 at Almondsbury at a fair lick. Pull off at Cribbs and alongside a Fiesta but there is a note that is not disimilar to a v twin. Pull off at lights and the shadow of a police helicopter passes over me and then slowly ahead. Can they monitor speed from the air - I hope not - that would not be fair.
Tuesday set off for Work at 0510hrs flying to Edinburgh - dressed for 0800 hrs - It is bloody cold.

Well in for another angiogram on 21 sept. 07
done a stress test (treadmill - not being strapped down and being told "youve lost your wallet" -that would be stress)
managed the full 12mins stage 5 being 4.3 mph at a 16% incline.
Feeling after it was like just having had sex - but the test had lasted 11 1/2 minutes longer.
Still Dr decides to proceed with angiogram to find out why I still have pain.
In lab for an hour. find minor brusing/clot around outside of stent which may have contributed. Decide to use a ultra sound camera in the artery.
Once in place I could help state " I'm ready for my close up now Mr. De Mill." I couldn't see who sniggered layed flat on my back. Film recorded and by a fluke of software didn't record the bit the Dr. wanted. Do it again. Ultrasound suggested artery between stents a little narrowed, but angio hadn't.
A sheath is left in my leg as my blood has been thinned and would not clot in time, 285 seconds needs to be below 150 seconds to clot.(13:30 hr) Considerations - fill me with metal (not lead as some would) - stents - or leave well alone as running test fine and too much information could be clouding judgements. Also after finding a bed for the night- lab time had expired - budgets.
Dr and I agree to leave well alone for moment and he will call me in 8 weeks with a follow up appointment in Jan. 08.
Sheath removed at 1600 hrs and pressure applied to seal artery -remain flat until 1700hrs (been flat for 4 1/2 hrs).
Sit up for 2 hrs (first pee in 12 hrs) and finally collected by wife at 21:30hrs.
Home and recorded Batman episodes 3 and 4 from 1966 ( yes we get repeats in the UK.)
Speak soon

Goodness Ade, for all the running and testing they've been poking at you for, your ability to jump back to normal activities is amazing. It's good to see you be able to do that.
The 12min stress test isn't too fun. But go as far as you can in the 12min. Not bad (As a fitness nerd, I've administered the same test to clients). All in all though, being able to complete a maximal test is rather encouraging news.
Hang in there!

Thanks ,
What I can't get over though is intially walked into town (300 yds) this afternoon and ache across my chest is quite uncomfortable - could it be the cuban heels and posture of normal walking vs the stress test in bare feet, with experienced advice on stance at hand -who knows. Well, just need to keep a record.
Hope to be back on the VN by Wednesday and the relaxation of 130 miles pounding the motorways.

Finally to bring us up to date prior to the Angioplasty
The Yamaha I was chasing from the bridge thru to Brynglas. Begining to catch him as we entered the tunnels and a Jag ahead moved over as I gained momentum. The only reason I came alongside the yam was he was pulling off after the tunnels - still we wave and on we go.
Pulling off the Motorway I am passed by a Ducati - that's 2 to the Ducati's and 1 to me.
Friday -the week has been good and the memorable bit 3 weeks on was pulling off the motorway to be behind a small group of bikes - 2 cruisers and a suzuki street bike. Stay behind as we move through South Cornelly and the cruisers pass a car ahead - I pass the suzuki and as I pass he accelerates past me as I am passing a car. (peeved).
Follow the 3 and once on the dual carriage way open up and pass all three with more than a little passion.
Monday - last day and a good run in and out. Weather has been fine and still warm. Take pici before setting off for home

Wed. 26th Sept.
Sunny day – been a fortnight since I’ve ridden and there is a definite change in the temp. (quite cold) Nice ride in . Usual bottlenecks – Coryton move thru the traffic as if I’ve not been off the bike. Approach Newport and motor between the moving traffic leaning the vn over to narrow the profile on the gaps. Arrive in work – leg aching a bit.
The journey home is getting dark make it home before the sun sets (ahead of the vampires) leg really aches.
Thursday – Another Sunny but cold day. Cardiff – change of scenery. Passed by a bright yellow BMW around Bridgend, I am at 80 but he is motoring (not a horizontal opposed twin) but we wave our acknowledgements. Into Cardiff, stop at lights around Ninian Park, alongside someone on phone – raise the tick over just slightly.
Arrive at site. Later back on to Bristol – refuel at Cardiff Gate –the journey around mid- day is quite quiet and uneventful. Homeward bound is late 1840 hrs – getting dark as heavy cloud and wear leggings just to keep out cold. Home around 19 45 hrs.
Friday
Journey in – forget extra mileage yesterday and refuel earlier than norm. Moving past white van man and as I pull in (Sarn M4) VN splutters) – changeover to reserve and motorcyclist behind looks as if going to pass – begin my wave and the vn roars into life. The rest of the journey to Culver junction I am shadowed by the bike behind. Pull off at services to refuel and a wave is given by both.
Rejoin M4 and quickly pass blonde who had left the petrol station earlier. Hold up reasonable rate and most vehicles move over for me to pass. Slower than usual in tunnels (60) but able to wind it up as I clear the Codra. Once over the bridge I weave my way into the left lane to exit to M5. Soon in work.
Home – A colleague at Haden (from same town) drops in office as lost wallet and offer to refuel him when I fuel up. Suggest he doesn’t have to wait for an old cruiser – he rides an Aprilla 1000 (07 model). He leaves Asda whilst I pay.
Reach the bridge (slight rain most of the way home) and the Aprilla passes into the tolls. Aprilla pulls out of the tolls around 4 cars ahead of me. Within 6 miles (Coldra) I catch and pass. Traffic is slowed right down and the VN appears to be more nimble. Motor between lanes and when the traffic opens up I maintain a sedate 80 home. At Pencoed the Aprilla catches me (around 2o miles) and I open up to follow. I don’t catch up and it reminds me of the hare and the tortoise (the VN being the hare).
Nice week.

Wait a minute........ you bought this fellow a tankful of gasoline, and he couldn't even wait a minute for you?
