It's America. The rest of the World is still getting plenty of standards. :)
Oh, just rub it in! I almost cry every time I look at Honda's UK website and see the bikes that aren't sold here.....

yeah, but if you used a windshield or a full-face helmet you wouldn't have to worry about cleaning the bugs out of there as much.

also, how cramped is it when somebody's riding pillion in there?
Hate to be a dick but they ain't talking about better brands of toothpaste as much as they were considering whether it was toothpaste to begin with. ie

"Yeah but that's not toothpaste!"
"Yes it is."
"No it isn't - it's handsoap"
"But you can brush your teeth with it!"
"No you can't!"
"Yes you can!"
"Ok, well, you COULD but it would be GROSS."

See, I think a standard should be a good all around bike
-Not too flashy
-Good mpg
-Reliable/low maint/easy to work on
-Good all around

People's idea of a standard are different. Different priorities. But for me, it's hard to classify things like a Harley and a Honda 599 as being in the same category. The sporty standard and cruiser standard are better terms.
