We have a club here in cheyenne called the Sober Riders. All the of members are in recovery. A friend of mine who has been clean for 15 years recently joined it and has had a great time riding with them.

I would suggest not calling it a club. If I were to ever join an organized motorcycle association, I would want it to be called a gang.

We have sober clubs here. I've heard they needed to obtain some sort of approval from the Bandidos. We have the Gypsies too. Evidently they were/are hardcore bikers with a giant pickle riding a HD patch on their vests- I've seen it!

I've never joined either type since I'm not a "joiner" but I do enjoy riding with others or in groups. I have considered the sober club, but... naaah.

Criminal gangs like the Hell's Angels, Bandidos or the Pagans are probably the closest thing to cagers that are on bikes. Alot (but not all) are unpredictable with a thuggish approach to thinking and life; that's a combination I just wouldn't want to put to the test. I wouldn't want myself or friends to get hurt "just to prove a point" by crossing these guys.

Its best not to sink to the level where you get compared to the badguys in your area even if your intentions are good.

After all its about transportation and fun- right?!
