And the fact you passout from lack of oxygen about 6 minutes into it, and an O.D. is not something you need to worry about.
Dam, kill this thread..... back in 10....

ya weed is the one drug you cant OD on, as for building a tollerence ask buzz how many joints it takes him to get high after all the years.

Every instance in which you introduce a given drug into your body increases your bodies resistance to its effects
positively untrue
rx has inverse tolerance...although ppl do develop a mental tolerance for its effects.
it is not a vampire like alcohol.
pot is good for you provided you do not abuse it.

I kind of agree with you swifty. I do think the above is true for lots of stuff like amphetamines, but I don't think it's true for pot. I just smoke a tiny bit - like 1 toke - to take the edge off. Same amount has been working for over a decade - if my body was building up resistance I'd have to smoke more to feel anything and that is decidedly not the case. It has been the case in the past - like when I had knee surgery and was taking Vicodin. But with the pot, not so much.

Reflecting back on the good ol' days.
I smoked a tremendous amount of pot. I had a real capacity for it. More was always better or so I thought. There was a limit to how stoned I got no matter how much I smoked- after that my IQ dropped sharply. Sort of an inversely proportional relationship.
The truth was that it took very little to have an intense effect. Those times when I hadn't been smoking yet that day or whatever and I took a hit in passing off a joint or bong I got as baked as ever. I just thought that alot was needed. To be honest though, when I smoked after a periods of abstinence I would get so bombed and stupified that I would giggle myself down into the flooboard of my car and be unable to drive or function properly.
Ever stopped at a stopsign and waited for it to turn green?

lol thats awesome right there.
my thing was always movies, id watch them on my computer with headphones(with smashing pumpkins playing along with the movie audio). i watcherd finding nemo one time and i remember i during the under water scenes taking my headphones off so i could take a deep breath before so i could keep watching the under water parts or id drown.
another time i was watching dumb and dumbererer, the entire movie i kept talking to lloyd telling him he looked alot like frankenstein. the whole time trying to convince him it was true.
you cant get those effects with booze.

who ever proved the weed kills brain cells in the first place?
http://paranoia.lycaeum.org/rx/facts/3-mj-myths
seems to dissagree as do a Huge number of other studys done that are easy to find on google. its very easy to simple say 'smoking pot will kill your brain cells' but then backing it up with no proof makes that claim totally worthless. theres people on this forum that have been smoking pretty much their entire life and seemingly function just fine. at the very worst case if pot was Proved to cause 1% brain function lose over the course of your life with frequent use then guess what, I'd still use it as im sure others would also. those odds of it ruining your life sound alot better than riding a motorcycle on a friday night to me.
people pick and choose their own risks in life, be it riding a motorcycle with or without a helmet. smoking the weed or sticking to legal mind alterting drugs(caffeine alcohol nicotine etc). the minute a governing body steps in and says mind altering drug(A is acceptable where as mind altering drug(B is not, is when they(govt) has crossed a line they shouldnt be crossing.
as far as being safe or not doesnt mean anything for it to be legal or not, you cant in any way argue the weed is more dangerous than alcohol. a bottle of liquor bought in any store has the ability to kill most any person if they should drink the whole bottle at once. no way to argue around that its proven fact, sure its dangerous yet its for sale at every grocery store here. we all can tell Sevulturus is the most safety conscious person(you can take that as a personal attack if i want) here, i mean anyone thats worried about eating a bushel of carrots because it can kill you obviously should have no interest in using mind altering drugs.

The short-term effects of rx can include problems with memory and learning; distorted perception; difficulty in thinking and problem solving; loss of coordination; and increased heart rate. Research findings for long-term rx use indicate some changes in the brain similar to those seen after long-term use of other major drugs of abuse. For example, cannabinoid (THC or synthetic forms of THC) withdrawal in chronically exposed animals leads to an increase in the activation of the stress-response system(6) and changes in the activity of nerve cells containing dopamine(7). Dopamine neurons are involved in the regulation of motivation and reward, and are directly or indirectly affected by all drugs of abuse.
Reduces your ability to create dopamine... you're right, it's not bad for you.
One study has indicated that a user’s risk of heart attack more than quadruples in the first hour after smoking rx(8).
Some of rx’s adverse health effects may occur because THC impairs the immune system’s ability to fight off infectious diseases and cancer. In laboratory experiments that exposed animal and human cells to THC or other rx ingredients, the normal disease-preventing reactions of many of the key types of immune cells were inhibited(16). In other studies, mice exposed to THC or related substances were more likely than unexposed mice to develop bacterial infections and tumors
The chronic (heavy, regular use) effects of rx consumption on the brain are disputed and the evidence available makes it difficult to draw any certain conclusions. R.G. Heath et al found, in their 1979 study of rhesus monkeys, anatomic changes in brain tissue. These changes included widening of the synaptic cleft, clumping of synaptic vesicles and other unspecified changes in morphology of brain cells. These changes were observed 6 months after cessation of 6 months of heavy exposure to rx smoke.
