Didn't get to go on the road ride last night. I was outside action about 30 minutes prior to the start time when my girlfriend got home and called to tell me we'd had a break in. Smashed a window and looks like they were going to steal the laptop (it was moved) but something must have startled them and they left with nothing, just destroyed the laptop cooling pad. I was too pissed off to ride and stuck around for 15 minutes to get the paperwork for my msa and then headed home to get the window boarded up and to calm her down a bit. Will have to make up the road ride and mock road test at a later date but at least I can practice on my bike until they have room in another class for me. Such is life. This is the third time (first at this place) I've dealt with a break in so I'm fine just mad but she was pretty upset. Ah well, nothing taken and no one hurt.

Crappy...I've had to deal with that a couple of times myself...nothing of real value stolen, but the feeling of being violated was pretty bad...there was no obvious point of entry for one of them...figured it was a past tenant, or the landlord...so I changed the locks myself & gave the landlord a key when I moved out...

GF might be pretty upset for a while and not feel safe in the house...good luck man...

Keep practicing, it's all worth it in the end!!

Later.

Smart man for recognizing it was not a good time to be on the bike.

I went for a ride last night. It was such a nice evening. A little chilly coming home later though.

Heading out this morning to spend an hour on the bike then heading home to meet the guy coming to fix the window. Tomorrow I should be able to get in several hours of riding

A little chilly?? In Vancouver?? ...when? (yes, I'm jealous of your mild temps...but not all the rain you get in a year!!)

It was -8C this morning...I think winter may be coming our way...no snow predicted, yet...but it will come...

Enjoy the riding...I know I would...

Later.

not a wuss, just smart. My commute ride in from Tsawassen into Burnaby at 4:30AM was dry, but for some reason a hell of a lot of cagers out and about, most of them in fat a$$ed SUV's wallowing about like pregnant drunken hippo's. The commute home was murder, rain had pretty much let up so didn't bother putting on the rain jacket over my leathers, but the roads were slick. I really loathe that light rain we get here, just enough to lift the oil off the road but not enough to wash it away. Then to make matters even more interest, had some tw@t in an Mazda SUV cut into my lane as I was accelerating to get passed a tractor trailer not once, but twice, once just before the tunnel and the other time after the tunnel on the Highway 17 exit ramp, the second time the sod sailed across three lanes of traffic and between two tractor trailer units.....what an A$$HAT.

Only had a couple hours before an appointment today but FINALLY got to take my bike for a ride. Spent about 30 minutes riding around subdivisions in Richmond to get a feel for the bike and the brakes, then took it for a little longer ride up to queensborough landing and had a quick lunch then back again. Avoided highways and took my time, encountered my first bad driver but saw him coming and avoided it easily. Will attach a couple of pics. Can't get the grin off my face. Hoping we somehow get sun over the next couple of days
