TCM. Yes - that's what I noticed too - no commercials. It was a very enjoyable evening.

Casablanca and a whole lot more.

On a cold dark evening in the winter, when the north wind is howling like banshees and the sleets is rattling the windows...... oh watch movies not write them. OK then.....

In the evening cuddled up on the couch with my girlfriend, drinking a beer or glass of wine, a fire going in the fireplace, then any movie is fine as long as it is not a horror flick.

Oh yes!! All directed by Hayao Miyazaki
I'm having a Miyazaki fest just at the moment, watching two a night. Here's some more of his. All utterly brilliant:

Nausicaa
My neighbour Totoro
Kiki's delivery service

Howl's castle (Based on a story by a Welsh author AW)
Porco Rosso

Whipser of the Heart is directed by someone else but has a screenplay by Miyazaki - wonderful film.
Hud

“Man has no right to kill his brother. It is no excuse that he does so in uniform: he only adds the infamy of servitude to the crime of murder.”
Percy Bysshe Shelley
