Flynrider- I used to have a Sears 106 that had the same type of electrics- it was also an Italian made bike. (Gilera I believe)

It had a rubber frame, rubber forks and rubber pushrods..... still, I'd love to have another one.

No problem, bikeguyjoe.
I believe in technology. I believe in DOHC, multi-valve cylinder heads, liquid-cooling, astronomical RPM, more than five gears, light weight, chain drive, and all at a reasonable price.

I believe in sportbikes.

In case you all forgot, I have a Ninja 250R!
Those of you who think you know everything are a great annoyance to those of us that do.
And you are an even GREATER annoyance to me, because you think you know it all.

You are not to determine what you THINK I know, just as I cannot do the same for you. I don't know it all, but my experience is what determines what I think, what I say, what I do, and it also determines my opinions.

Again, I say: get over it.

We all have differing opinions.

That is why this is called "Total Motorcycle Forums", not "Harley Motorcycle Forums", or "Sportbike Motorcycle Forums", etc. :|

Variety is the spice of life, you act as if it is garlic to a vampire. You need to expand your horizons, IMHO (Disclaimer there...).

Just accept that others are not your carbon copy and you might actually find life more fulfilling. Might want to try that there, just some advice from someone who knows "nothing" about bikes, because he does not ride an Italian bike, "only" a lowly 250cc, and cannot afford anything bigger right now.

My seven years of riding and 16+ years experience with all types of bikes (Inside and out) means nothing, after all. My having less than 6,000 posts means I absolutely MUST be some noob, I mean, it's not like I was riding bikes before I joined this forum, right? Give me a break! Did I miss anything there, buddy?
Hehe, apparently some of us cannot take a joke.

7 years riding as a student? I'm impressed. I assume you're counting some dirt biking time in there or something. Either that or you're at least 23 depending on which state you live in. Or are a returning student.

If you'd bothered to read my sig you'd note that I'm not on a "Super Italian" either. But I know better then to knock someone elses ride based on where it's from.

Like you said it's TOTAL motorcycle world. And badmouthing some one elses ride is the surest way to be asked to hit the road.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I am 24, yes. Thanks. My little Honda 250 was my only vehicle after my MGB bit the dust, so I was forced to rely on half the wheels. I have ridden in all weathers, so I know the true meaning of being "cold".

But I would not trade riding for anything else, it is so much better than any car I have yet driven.

My whole beef was that some point out that MV is best, when it is blatantly obvious who is the best. I have a penchant for pointing out the blatant, so I have been told.

Back to the thread: "Italy of Japan?"...I cast my vote for Japan, obviously.

Hey schoolbus- you ever own an Italian bike?

I read most all the posts, including the chest beating section that had nothing to do with "Italian or Japanese", and I don't remember if you said you did.

Even though my Italian bike is not the most high tech, advanced, or even well built bike, it has more soul than all the Japanese bikes I own put together......

No, but I owned an Italian car...piece of junk.

Owned a British car...bigger piece of junk.

Then, I owned a Japanese car. Magnificent.

Again with the soul thing...unless it can be quantified, it means nothing. "Soul" is just an excuse most Westerners use to allow for inferior quality and poor performance. It comes down to xenophobia, IMHO (Disclaimer...).

Give me a "soul-less" Japanese bike that works flawlessly any day. :P

Want some more chest pounding?
