Well I'm a great believer in just jumping RIGHT IN THERE. Do not take things slowly, and make sure that you start out with something fancy.

Boring old QWERTY keyboard? Not for you! Shell out the big bucks for the Dvorak keyboard, and you'll be able to type even faster. The Qwerty is outdated anyways, and not nearly as cool.

Take style of substance every time, my keyboard and mouse BOTH glow blue, along with my computer case and docking stations. Remember, it's not how fast you CAN type, but how fast it LOOKS like you can. People will see your keyboard and think WOW, that guy is cool.

Now most people will suggest a nice relaxed posture, with both feet on the ground in front of you, this is wrong. You want to tuck your legs up underneath you and sit on them, try to lean to one side, and most importantly make sure you keep your wrists cocked to one side. This makes you type the fastest.

Standard hands are acceptable for newbs, but you'll quikcly grow bored with them, I mean... they're just hands everyone has them. Lop those suckers off and buy a pair of robotic ones, you'll never regret it. Dragging knuckles is a bad thing, it'll only slow you down.

Now I've only been typing for 2 months so far, but I think I'm doing pretty good. No major mishaps or anything. If I can do it, so can you.

Oh and have you signed up for your Spell Check course yet?? I would be very skeptical of typing to fast or non-QWERTY keyboard before you take the course. You may wish to go out back of the office and practice in the parking lot but mind you do that on your own time and not while on the clock!!

We're not worthy. Oh, I've decided to get a hang glider instead typing stuff. There's really cool cliff I can jump off, if I can get the glider between the trees at the top. DO you think I would be any good at bungee jumping? I used to jump off the patio behind my house...it's almost five inches off the ground back there. SOmebody I know has a horse. Do you think I'd be a pretty good rider? I'd like to try that man from snowy river stuff. Oh, and I almost drowned when I was a kid...would I be good at scuba diving? Thanks, you guys are great.

The steering on my R6 is *exactly* what I wanted out of a bike. The EX was just slop. Day and night difference. Having to manhandle that bike into corners drove me to fits, but the R6, da**ed if I don't just *think* it, "Turn", and it turns. I tend to exagerate my movements on the bike at times, perhaps it's a carryover from the EX's need to be forced into doing anything. Thankfully, the bike is quite forgiving, especially when I'm conservative on the throttle. I know this bike wants nothing more than to GO GO GO!, but I have to reign it in, it's my hand on the throttle, not the other way around.

But for all the yap on this thread, I can *somewhat* agree about the first bike mantra. Get a beater. Kick it's ace. Drop it. break schnitt off of it. It feels a lot better, imho, hating the bike you're learning on, than hating yourself for breaking the bike you *want* to be on.

W"hich isnt to say that you need to hate the bike you are learning on, my little CG is definately a learning tool and I need to step up to 250 or 400cc's next year to play on Motorways but I am still going to miss her when I sell her on.

She is kind of like a first girlf, we've been through a lot together and grown as people.
