I may have scraped the feeler bolts a couple of times but no pictures of it.

Did you get the F-16 Windshiled? How do you like it? Do you have any pics?

I hit 160 on the back straight But it's not very long, so by the time you hit that speed you're already back on the brakes getting ready for turn two. Then a quick shot into turn 3 and you're into the twisties.


You can see the track behind Justin - he races professionally and is sponsored by Echo - he rides a Triumph Daytona 675. He's also a firefighter :O! The guy in the leathers is Paul, he's the shop owner, and a used to race professionally.

Justin is giving us the walkthrough of the course and telling us where we should be turning etc, where to finish the turn, and where to be halfway through. He was running about a minute three, minute four on the track. I was more like a minute twenty something haha. And he was taking it easy, so much to learn.

I got really impressed for a second that the 599 did that, then I realized you're using kph.
I'm jealous, sounds like you had a blast. Got a better feel for what you and the bike can do now? I love that picture from your right side in the middle of the corner.

You know you're a bike-nerd when it's midnight, you can't sleep and you're downstairs in the garage wearing only a pair of shorts working on your bike.

Why is it that engineers never seem to take into account how difficult it will be to work on a bike when they design it? Take the new 07 R6 for example. In order to change the oil you need to pull the left side of the fairing off, and then disconnect the shift linkage. Because apparently the only place you can put an oil filter is behind the shifter linkage...

Or the Suzuki skooter I got running today. Rather then putting the carb off to the side where it was easy to access it was stuck right in the middle of the "bike", air box to one side, wheel to the rear, transmission/clutch to the other side and cylinder in front. Fortunately I have small hands, and a willingness to hurt myself to save myself work. So rather then dissasembling the entire skooter to clean the carb I contorted my hands into a variety of shapes they should not normally manifest, and undo the bolts to flip it over then pull the jets.

Finally, DO NOT BUY CHINESE BIKES! They are "poo poo". I had to PDI one today - every bolt was loose, axle, fork pinch bolts, steering head cap, the steering stem bolts were not properly loaded - ton of play in the steering head, the rear shock was over compressed.

The petcock was broken, I poured a whole tankful of gas into the tank, only to look at the other side and see it pouring out through the side of petcock.

Hopefully the weather will be good.

So... I'm either in Jasper... or Lake Louise, I'm not sure. Either way I'm drunk and I definately just rode at least 300km through FREEZING freaking weather. Wind off a glacier will freeze you solid. And snow off the top of the mountain is something you should expect apparently. We got a ton of photos, but heavy rain destroyed my camera. Hopefully I can steal Malice's pics.

Heya Jeff. I was thinking that loop would be a great get-together for the northern and southern AB riders to get together on. Maybe not so much in the weather you have been through however....
