This particular shop is not a dealer...it is an independent shop that does service and sells assorted stuff. If he doesn't have something you need, he orders it.
If you have a good independent shop by you, it's a blessing. I find they tend to be more focused on the customer relationship.
It's only a 15 minute ride away.
About the customer relationship....yes, it is true.

Bought a new car (yesterday, actually). 2013 Ford Focus ST. Bright red.... and it is BRIGHT RED

(wanted a blue one, but had to take one with the base package to avoid the Recaro seats, so took the color I could get).
Neat car. Corners like it's on rails......
It was time, previous car, a 2000 VW Passat, had 192,000 miles and needed both catalytic converters and other repairs. Cost of repairs exceeded book value of the car, and it was 13 years old, so I (reluctantly) let it go.

I took a nap. Mike says I must be getting old. Lol!
Congrats jstark! The ford focus is a great car. Ford has come along far in the past handful of years! I bet your red isn't as bright as our green...

Problem was, it was a 13 year old car worth about $2K according to Kelly Blue Book, that needed more than $2K in repairs to get through inspection and be driveable. (With both cat converters shot, it sounded like it had open headers!!) And then, even with the money invested, it's still 13 years old and all the little mechanisms and electronic doo-dads are also 13 years old.
It was a 2.8 litre V6 with a 5-speed manual transmission. Hell yes, I'll miss it! The real problem is VW doesn't make anything comparable any more. So I went in a different direction..... we'll see how it works out. This is my first non-VW since 1981.

I helped a plumber install a shut off valve.

I feel like a tradesperson now.

When grocery and liquor/beer/wine shopping, vacuumed the house, helped make dinner for friends coming over and I'm looking forward to a beer.

Walked to the hospital to get me packing changed in my abscess. Eww. 3 weeks and still a daily pain in the.....tummy?
But the walk felt nice. Getting brisk out. My mom lives an hour north if me and is getting snow right now. That's sticking on the ground too. Lol.
