Yep. Took like 20 kicks the first time. Then it was fine from there. Tossed some fresh gas. Adjusted the chain too... finally. It's amazing, for all the abuse the chain has taken, and the total lack of maintenance, it's held up extremely well. Props to DID for making an excellent chain.

Funny thing about it running downhill... I was going downhill once, in about a foot of snow, and started to lose control, so I did the dirtbike balancing act (dirt riders know what this is like) and clutched in too. And the bike just kinda... stopped moving. I got off and it stood there, straight up. No kick stand.

Though the XR is geared too low for snow fun really, I get a LOT of wheel spin. A 50 tooth rear sprocket is GREAT for climbing a mountain, but shitty in the snow. Works well in mud though.
