I thought so, too.
I kept coming back to my computer once in a while to check it and it was still running. Finally after 6 hours I stopped the scan.
It didn't have any bad stuff in it anyway.

My computer had a stroke I think. Mind you it is about 12 years old.

Does anyone know how to stop the "sweep" feature in outlook email? I have looked in the help section, but can't find anything.

Not familiar with Outlook myself, not since I started using GMail at least. I don't know if you're using OL 'stand-alone' on your computer or the Outlook.com web-based application, but if you're using the web-based service I found this article that might help...

Thank. I saw that page. It didn't tell me how to turn off the sweep.
The Outlook never used to do that. It's the new and improved.....hahahahahahahaha...
Doesn't matter what web based program it is...they always seem to need to change stuff. Whether it's Facebook(which I don't have anymore), or Yahoo mail, or gmail, or .....they keep so called improving...and then we have to figure out how to use them all over again.
