Things are coming along slowly. Just this past week I can suddenly feel a bit of improvement in my posture. I think the work the chiropractor has been doing along with my special stretches and core exercises is starting to help.
I also don't need very many painkillers any more and I hardly ever use a sleeping pill anymore. So that tells me there is improvement.

I don't think I could do my job yet....but perhaps in a few more weeks I can go back to try a graduated return to work.
The insurance has expired on my bike and I won't bother renewing until I feel fit to ride...and given we are coming up to winter, I may not bother until the new year.

Thanks for asking. :)

Thanks, Roscowgo.

I was in cattle country this past long weekend (Thanksgiving in Canada)...for a photographic field trip. Lots of great scenery, cattle roaming, wild horse round up, falls colours....and lots of ibuprofen to assist me.

I'm paying for it today though...but after I sort through my images I think it will have been worth the discomfort.

I have had to give up riding for several months so I filled in the time with photography.

This past weekend I had the privilege to hang out on a ranch and watch the roundup of the wild horses. I asked the boss man of the Upper Nicola Band if I could take so me photos. He allowed me and my friend to snap away so long as I send him a few prints. That is a small price to pay for being allowed to be there.
I'll post a few when I get a bit of time. However.....my friend took a couple of me so I am sharing those with you. One is me in action so to speak and the other is after the day....the dirt and my smile says it all.

An image I am working on....

I still have bikes on my mind. They looked so nice parked together at a fast food parking lot.

I am still looking forward to when I can get back in the saddle....of my Yamaha.....

Here it is almost the end of October and I missed the whole riding season.
I have been keeping busy though. I got to go away for the Thanksgiving long weekend courtesy of my friend. It was the annual camera club outing to Merritt, BC.

The link is to a 4 minute photo show with music. It is some images I got from the area. The images are mostly as seen....I didn't have time to much with them....so only a few are "enhanced" a bit.

If it asks for a password it is yamaha

I hope you enjoy having a look at autumn in BC.

Hey, blues!

I especially like the shot of the steps of the old house - interesting light and textures you captured there.

Are you still seeing progress in healing? dr_bar keeps bragging on how you Vancouverites can ride year round...... any chance of getting back on the VStar soon?

My biggest fear is that I do something or something happens that stops me from riding. I did not realize you were hurt as I am new here and I hope you recover fast and that you have a speedier time getting this all resolved. I am going through your blog to see what happened. I am sure you do not want to repeat it again. Take care of yourself and continue to do what the doctor says.

I have degenrative <-- quit laughing at the spelling - arthritis and have been told I should not be riding, but I will until I cannot.

The insurance has expired on my bike now. I don't have the funds to keep it insured right now. (No income) I will be starting an active rehab program next week so that should help me regain some stength.

If I was up to riding, yes, it is true that you could ride all year.....but....this is a disclaimer.....you can ride all year if you like rain and cold. In the winter the mornings are frosty so commuting to work is out. Yesterday was like a summer day.

I won't be riding until the new season starts, but I do plan on getting back out there.

Yesterday dr_bar was using his bike and trailer to move things into his new abode.

I also have degenerative discs, but so do the majority of the population. Sometimes the base of the spine flares up and hurts like heck....but that is what anti-inflammatories are for.

I have found that riding has not caused me too many problems probably because of the position. I could never ride a sport bike. I would be in agony.
Like you....(when I get back at it), I plan to ride for a few more years yet.

Hi Blues, I was wondering how things were going for you. You're doing really nice things with the photography :righton: I love the shots on the ranch - beautiful!

Riding will still be there for you when you're ready for it. Things will come together. Enjoy the photo shooting.
