Hey, it sounds like we can come to a consensus then.

People who buy bikes for the bikes, regardless of brand are cool.

Peole who buy bikes to look cook are LAME!

If a Harley (in general) is cool, then it is probably that it is a very old name. Long before any hype, Harley-Davidson was "the" name in motorcyles, although if Indian could have kept it together, they might have done as well.

I was riding a Buell Blast as my learning bike and had no interest in a Harley. I was looking at a Triumph Bonneville and a Vulcan Drifter, as well as some sport tourers.

Then, during demo days at the dealer, I rode a Sportster 1200c. Five times. It took a day to pry that grin off my face, and that is why I have one now. Not because it is "cool".

Hey, I respect that.
Even the boys at motorcycle.com have the same reactions to Harleys, so there's something those bikes do right that has nothing to do with being a fake poser dork.

Lets just all hold hands and be happy.

Then agree that we all hope this person dies a horrible death.

I personally feel that Harleys are over rated and over priced. To obtain a Harley equivalent in style and power of my Yamaha, I would have had to put out over $20,000. I paid $13,000 for the Silverado.
I think the biggest downfall of the Harley is the dealers. They inflate the prices. Just go to the factory Harley site and check out the base price of the bikes there, Then go to any Harley dealer and compare.
Bikes priced at about $14,000 at the factory site, but when you go to the dealer, it's about $19,000. I personally won't pay that kind of markup.
Rice burners give you so much more for your buck.

I'm assuming you're making a joke as your Bonneville looks NOTHING like my Sportster. ;)
Fortunately, it doesn't drive anything like a Sportster, either. The Bonnie eats Sportsters for breakfast......
Hehe - and it's great that you feel that way. I'm just out for a good ride and to have some fun - thats all that matters to me. :) I am pretty undecided on whether I really like the way the bonnevilles look, or totally hate it. I have a feeling its just one of those types of looks I guess.
Actually my antipathy for Sporties is totally based on looks (what else would you expect a Triumph owner to say? ) The Sportster-Bonneville rivalry goes back decades. The 1200's perform fine, the 883's are a little weak, IMO.

The MOST expensive HD is 22,080 brand new... The most expensive Honda is 22,499 - so... what were you saying?
