And for the Marketers in the crowd: People like myself who buy on the all-in price are annoying fact of their lives. Dealerships who tip-toe around the "all-in" price appear to be hiding something. If you want to sell your bike at the lowest price in town and hide the real price of the bike in $1500 of PDI, freight and destination charges good for you.....but I'm not buying.
As a case in point, the newer foo-foo Ducati shop in town used just this tactic. They would even painfully tip toe around the real price when asked bluntly about what the out the door price would be. I bought at the older straightforward shop that gave me the answer within 10 seconds of asking and ended up saving a significant amout of $$$ in the process. They are still in business. As of last week the other shop is not. I like to think that this is a direct result of choosing whether or not to run a business for the long term or somewhat deceptively for the quick buck.

Agreed...and thats why when I opened my screen shop, I rolled all of my set up fees into the unit price...so I could market to people who like straight shooters. It hurts though...people respond to low numbers...even when it bites em from behind.
Fact is, shady marketing works...glad to hear of an instance that being straight gave staying power though...makes me feel good about my business plan.

Has nothing to do with being a wimp or not RhadamYgg, at the end of the day the dealerships usually have the cards...and they play them to recover those expenses...however inflated they are. Truth is if you ask you can always get something discounted if you ask...just remeber that they have to make money or its not worth it to them to sell you a bike.
