That'd be like saying a guitarist couldn't play a bass just because they're different instruments. They're still similar.

Well, a guitarist could probably pound out easy rock root notes on a bass with a pick, but unless they put in some serious practice time I doubt they could play a fast jazz slap and pop line...just saying

Slapping isn't that hard. You don't even need a pick for a bass, the strings are so large and spread apart it's hard to miss one.

The fretboard is layed out the same (except on some basses that use a different tuning which i don't know off the top).

As a bassist and a guitarist, I have to disagree...they are two completely different instruments and somebody that's never touched a bass before, even a guitarist, would just not be able to play something like Giant Steps.

EDIT: On the other hand, I doubt they would have any problem playing a stream of repetitious 8th notes

Nope - nobody's trying to hit on me. Being with my bike is like being with my well-stacked blonde friend. All the attention goes straight to her.

Well the leathers sometimes get that special look of interest but, speaking as the contents, I can't say they've ever increased my chances of an exciting life.

Couple of women at work now do a double take when I arrive in the morning in my bike gear, but by the time I'm a my console its back to purely professional relationships.

I once got an offer I couldn't refuse from two well-stacked twenty year olds thanks to the bike. But that was only to help me pick it up where I'd dropped it in the car park. Once they had done their good deed they said a polite goodbye and walked off full of the milk of human kindness. I'm not proud.

As a matter of fact, it happened to me just last week by 2 20 something women in a car who were stopped at the signal, and complemented me on my bike, and said "you look good riding your motorcycle". Being a happily married man, I smiled and said thank you.
By the way, I'm 54.

I wish I couldn't relate, but it s so true it hurts!

The above has happened to me as well, I smile and say, "The better half thinks so too....and I think her tushy looks good on her Shadow"
