Shorts wrote:Blues, that's pretty crappy of your trainers to be pushing you at 5days a week, for 4hrs. I'm *assuming* they are alternating exercises for each day?? They better be. And frankly, to be on the safe and fresh side, strengthing work on less than great knees should be run no les than 48hrs per session. Otherwise that's asking for trouble. The older a person gets the less frequent they should work out in relation to frequency of exercises and training, and that starts as early as 25yrs of age. No, I'm not saying workout less and less, you slackers that may be reading! lol I'm saying that as we get older it takes the body longer to recover from each train. And it isn't necessary to overtrain for healthy living or strength. Overtraining is actually moe harmful than not working out at all. Why risk chronic injury or avute pain when it doesn't add to the benefit of exercise?
Ehh, sorry, ranting.
Blues, I hope your trainers get your program worked out better. They should have been listening to you from the start and they made the biggest mistake any trainer could make - not listening to the client.
Thanks for the support. I appreciate it.
My program has now been modified....partly because they modified and partly because I told them what I was capable of. I did my three sets of ten reps on a particular thing that is causing me grief only I reduced the weight and told them after the fact.
Actually the program is now split into day 1 and day 2....so some are done on 1 day and some are done on the other day and some are done both days. It's also a bit less time each day.
I hope with the rest I am getting from it over the weeknd, that Monday I will feel a bit better.
I had a breakdown last week. An emotional breakdown and I had to leave the clininc early. I'm glad it happened there and not after I left. It's good that they saw me in that state. I think that's what made them really really grasp that this has been too hard for me.
Next week should be better.

Thank you everyone for the show of support. I truly do appreciate it. I can't believe what appeared to be a simple crash has turned out to be so complex and taking so long.
A few weeks ago Doc and I went to a parking lot where an acquaintance of mine had set up some cones for practice.
Now as you all know, Doc bought himself a big shiny new Royal Star Venture. He is always telling me I could ride that bike.....
So.....I made him put his money where his mouth is, so to speak.
He actually let me ride his bike around the parking lot.

I made sure I felt how it balanced and tested the throttle/clutch control before I lifted my feet off the ground.
Here is a short video of that ride on the Venture.

So-o-o-o-o after many phone calls and much waiting, I finally got to ride my bike home. The bike had been in the shop for so long that the existing insurance on it had expired. I purchased a day permit for the occasion.
Doc came by on his Venture and took me over to the shop. He has been such a good friend throughout this whole ordeal. In fact I could not have made it through this past year if not for the support of my friends.
Anyway......(I'm not going to name names) but here is a picture of me (helmet hair included

) sitting on my bike outside the shop before starting it up to head back into town to go for brunch.
Here is my bike and Doc's bike parked side by side outside the restaurant. I never really felt that my bike was small, but it sure looks puny beside Doc's.
Something you probably aren't aware of is that Doc spends a lot of time either looking at accessories, looking for accessories, ordering accessories and buying and picking up accessories.
I think I finally know the real reason he has this need for so many useless accessories.
Here is Doc with the accessory girl.
Bike wash pics to come soon.

One last entry for now. On the day I rode Doc's Venture around the parking lot, the owner of an 1100cc V-Star suggested I ride his bike, too.
So....I did. Up until then I have only ridden a 650 V-Star. I won't count th Road Star I tried because I just took into a back alley and back. I never even wound up the throttle. I had no idea of the difference in the power between the 650 and the 1100...woweeeeeeeee. It didn't take much on the throttle to make it have lots of power.
Here is the video.
