I've been a non-active/paying member of a gym for way too long. Today I made an appointment to see a trainer and start doing something about this waist line and give my heart life line. I've been packing it on these last few years and have only myself to blame, so I went to the same source for a much needed kick in the azz...

I've set up a plan with the dietician and will be looking forward to trying to take total control of my health...

Boy, am I ever going to need some help on that front...

Why don't you try out a martial art? The good ones (good teachers) can really improve your health and you'll be surprised at what your body can go through after several sessions.

I'm in Shao-lin, took Escrima and Wing Chun and when I hit the gym I find myself being able to do more reps and I breathing isn't much of a problem any more. A weird side effect is that when I get hit with something (like a bookshelf falling down on me) I don't feel much pain and I can still move about.

+1 on the Martial Arts. I'm in Kenpo, personally, and I gotta say that it definitely does do something for your body when you find the right instructor. I just don't do gyms, I get enough of a workout in the dojo (and by myself on the off days) and heavy weightlifting I've noticed really does nothing for my mobility.

Aside from that, though, definitely go for it. Not only will you get fit physically, but you'll get fit mentally, feel better about yourself, and best of all you become part of a family.

Yeah me too, except they were for dinner.
My dads co worker said if I process 4 of his roosters he will give me 2 of them.
I am considering it for the experience.(and a cheap dinner  ) I have never did it before, but was thinking of trying it out.

God I am turning into such a redneck!

Left work early to come home and pack for the airplane ride tomorrow. I think it's finally starting to sink-in that I am actually going to be away from work for 3 whole weeks!

as i read that i'm stuck at work :frusty: oh well, i'm only here until noon, then i get to go and work on ye olde cl350, and perhaps bomb around the county on the bike a bit. the roads still suck around here, but i don't think i can deny myself or the bike much longer.

Thats the part that is tearing me up: It is the start of the riding season here and I have a new ride in the garage. I'll miss my favorite time of the year here but I will be consoling myself with a ride around Mauritius on a 90cc rental scooter in a couple of days! Lifes a beach

 had that happen to me last year, missed a week in the middle of may (prime riding time in wisconsin) to go see mickey on my honeymoon. even worse, we stopped in the great smoky mountains for a couple of days and i was less than an hour from deals gap.... without the bike.

got my frustration out of the way on a rental 50cc Kymco in Florida, though poor little fella
