Hayabusa averages in the low 40mpg range. If it's all highway and I keep it at about 80, I can edge out 50 mpg.

Ninja 250 gets 75mpg, I couldn't believe it. It may be because my wife is riding it and still learning, so the riding is all back roads with very little speeding.
The ninja's 75 makes perfect sense... I get 68mpg on my Alpha 250, and I accelerate like I mean it... if I am nice, I get better. 250cc's are SO economical, I love it.

Handling-wise it is very solid. I have no problem at those speeds. Although, there isnt a lot of pickup after 70-75mph (as the top speed is somewhere around 80mph). (It is a 250 after all, and I'm a big guy). I can ride at 65mph all day and it wouldn't be a problem. Just don't ask me to pass anyone in a hurry...haha.

A couple of weeks ago both my spousette and I ran out of gas at the same time . Those particular tank fulls were city riding . I was at 98 miles and she was relatively close . Mine an 805 Intruder and hers an 805 Maurader . After switcing to reserve we went and fueled up . Now hers is a stock tank while mine is a custom .
The one real annoying part of it all was that it cost us $16.00 USD to fill both bikes..........

I get about 240 km on my monster before the fuel light comes on and use about 10.5 litres of fuel. (still 4 litres to go on a 14 litre tank). I guess that would be about 150 miles on 2.8 gallons ~ 54 miles per gallon.

The irony with fuel mileage versus high performance is that if you are riding any distance on public roads, the smaller less powerful bike would get there first. My thirsty VTR for example will scream past every four-wheel vehicle on the road with ease, but then it's the same four wheel vehicles that pass me as I am fueling up. My old CX650 would get me from Calgary to Vancouver faster than my VTR1000......

I ride a 2005 BMW R1200RT with a 7.1 gallon tank. I average over 350 miles or better on every tank at about 52 mpg.

my 86 fj 12 get around 45-50mpg, my 400 bandit around the same sometimes better, The C-50 around 50 or better.
I figgure the bandits problem is that it revs at 7,000 to hit 60 mph.
