i went to a parking lot to practice throttle control and hard braking.

i also practiced turning. :D

good thing i practiced... my hard braking got rusty. i was locking the rear during the 1st few times but then i fixed it later.

im kinda getting used to the new throttle response but im not yet confident to go back to the canyons yet. i'll give it a few more days.

i believe my turning has improved. XM pointed it out to me that i wasn't shifting my upper body when turning. i realized i was only sliding my butt but my upper body wasn't adjusting.

now i made it a point to shift my upper body and i felt better when turning. :D

I think 12 people pointed out you were leaning out of the turn as opposed to into it.

And you should stop flapping your knees around like that. Keep them tight to the tank.

but extending the knee conserves lean angle, right? so it still helps even if im not dragging.

Considering the lean angle you're achieving it's irrelevant at this point. You're better off just keeping your knees tight, "O Ring" centered, and leaning into the turn. From there you progress to moveing side to side on the seat to convserve lean angle, and finally stick out your knee to "feel" the ground.

As it stands you just look silly flapping your knees out like that.

...and work on your lines... most people suggest "outside inside outside"... you were doing "outside outside outside" and "inside outside inside"... there were times when you coulda just straightened up and split three curves without turning at all but you followed a center inside outside center line...

And eat your vegetables! And don't make faces! And tie your shoes!

Not that I would've gone any faster... I just would've left off the knee waving (it ain't dragging when your knees are a foot and a half from the ground) and butt shifting. No style... :laughing:

There's absolutely no reason to put your knee out in a turn. Keep knees tucked.

i went back to the parking lot.

it's kinda boring as well since the parking lot is not big enough for my comfort level and it's not flat, there are some elevations so im not feeling too confident.

but i met and talked to another rider hanging out there and it's always fun to talk to fellow bikers. he had a limited edition 2003 ducati 620. the sportbike not the monster.

the guy on the pocket bike looks like he's having fun as well. :laughing:

Nice video. You should set up some cones and do an obstacle course.
