just hoppin on to say I'm very happy with my 06 m50
i've had it for roughly 6months now.
this is my fourth bike. my second suzuki bike (first was a ls650)
my previous bike was a kawa zr750
i guess some would say speedwise I downgraded to this bike but I'm very happy w/ the power and handling over my previous ride.
I have a tfi and jardine 2-1 megaphone exaust.
I should have a thunder air kit soon.
I don't see many M50 riders on this forum...most are over in
http://www.motorcycle-journal.com/forum ... -hideaway/
peace

funny...i tried both sites to find if anyone has had the same symptoms he had on his m50...and nobody has...
also tried googling those symptoms for the m50 or c50 and nothing but his posts come up.
in addition i would think the zuki dealership could remap the fi the way they remap the fi for people w/ added performance parts.
oh well...not my prob(and prob nothing to do w/ the bike at all)
but both sites have a huge wealth of information.

Nothing wrong with the Suzuki M50. It is a good value in its class.
The nice thing about having an oddball bike like my TW200 is everyone wants to ride it and swapping bikes for a test ride is common, so I have the opportunity to ride many different bikes. The M50 I rode had an exhaust (too loud for my taste), custom seat, windshield, lots of chrome bits and pieces, and some dyno tuning. It was a very nice ride, a little bulky around town (remember, I'm used to a TW200), comfy on the highway at 65mph (waiting for the TW), with no real vices. If I was looking for a mid-size cruiser, the M50 would be on my list of prospects. The only thing that would keep me from buying on would be the fact that every Suzuki dealer within 50 miles of me sucks. That isn't the bike's fault. If I lived near a reputable dealer with a good reputation, the M50 would be near the top of my list.

The Suzuki Boulevard M50 is a cheap generic POS! What do you guys expect when ur a cheapskate spending $4995 for a 800cc bike? YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! a cheap Chinese made engine with plastic valve covers and fenders! Horsepower is only 45 at 6200 rpm! Other bikes that same size put out 55 HP at 3200 rpm! What happens if you do rev that M50 to 6200 rpm? It shakes and vibrates and feels like its going to fall apart! Look at the brakes on the M50! HA! What A Joke! The brakes DON'T WORK! A kids 80 cc dirt bike has better brakes than a M50! What always happen when you shift gears on a M50? IT CLUNKS! The M50 is the biggest POS out there! I should know , I OWN ONE! Im ashamed of it, I fear being seen riding it in public! Maybe you guys should wake up and tell the truth and be honest and stop misleading everybody making them think its a great bike!

What's a two-stage clutch?

higher end sport bikes have a two stage clutch that works TOTALLY different than the clutch on ur generic cruiser bike! The clutch will freewheel at a high rpm, this protects the clutch from smoking, overheating and shattering meaning to a simple mind that has no high end intellectuial knowledge like I do that the clutch plates are not connected to the primary, instead the clutch basket is making a physicial bond direct to the primary simular to how a lock up torque converter works on ur wife's mini van. I am an expert and I do admit I have a problem dumbing down my words so you public school educated rednecks could understand. Thank You, MotoF150
