The name Sophia is derived from the Greek word for "wisdom." In early religious and philosophical texts, characters who personified wisdom are referred to as "Sophia figures."
Famous bearers include actress Sophia Loren, Sophia Myles and Sophia Bush. Sophia of Hanover was the mother of British king George I. She was expected to accede to the throne following the death of Queen Anne, but died a few weeks too early.
The Hagia Sophia (meaning 'Holy Wisdom') is a building in Istanbul, Turkey. It has been a basilica or cathedral, a mosque and is now a museum. It is a prime example of Byzantine architecture. Sophia is also the name of a university in Tokyo.
Say's it all really dunnit, innit

Wow, that's quite a lot of information about Sophia! Who would have guessed?!?!
Back to my Moto Guzzi V7, I've been trying to decide if I should and what colour I should have for rim tape on the bike. At first I was thinking red, then dark orange (which is not bright like H-D or KTM). Andrea is thinking more of grey or silver just to have something there that's classy but matches the silver/grey in the side covers... hmmmm...
I was out riding the V7 in almost freezing overnight temperatures (yes, it's rare but it did dip that low) and it felt like riding in Caglary. No issues riding in that cold of weather other than the typical "have to warm up bike a little before going". But today, it was +24°C and we were out grocery shopping seeing shoppers in T-shirts and shorts!
Crazy.

Finally pried myself away from TMW for an hour at 5pm and went for a short motorcycle ride... Ah, love it! It's only +15°C out in the middle of January (ya, don't I love it) but its nice it just go for a blast. Twisting the V7 throttle wide open puts a massive smile on my face and reminds me why I love this engine so much.

I just came back from a nice ride. It was a balmy 4°C, but some nasty clouds were approaching and the forecast called for snow, so I only stayed out for a hour. Didn't even bother to wear my electric vest.

Isn't it great when you can get out and ride (even for a little bit) during the winter? It's like getting a little treat.

We have a pretty mild climate here. We usually get only a week or maybe two of heavy snow when I can't ride, but during the rest of the winter there are quite a few days I can get out. If only that danged work wouldn't get in the way.

Quick question, did you ever fit the Dart screen that you had? Am not sure if you mentioned it again in this thread. Just wondered if it was 10 mins to fit, and if it was worth while.
cheers
The bikeless one....

I can answer that one... NO! He was... uh um... waiting for the weather to warm up.

Likely excuse! I did set a reminder in his Outlook over Christmas so that every day he got reminded but he hasn't got to it yet.
Time to razz!!!

I was looking the Moto Guzzi's at the bike show last weekend.
The rep there said they tend to vibrate a lot at idle but smooth out upon riding.
Is this true?

For the ones that I have tested, that a yes, but as soon as the power is applied, they are as smooth as silk.
I think it gives them a "living" character as they seem to be itching to get going when on idle...(Yes I am an old romantic)
