I got up to 115 mph on my '05 Tiger one day and it didn't feel like it was anywhere near maximum. Since I had only been riding one day, I figured maybe I shouldn't do that again.

I work with a guy that is one of those people that has to outdo anything you say. Anyway, after I mentioned my 115 mph, he told about his Honda 600 "something or other" that he bought at the race track and had nitrous oxide tanks hidden under the front cowling. He said it went 260 mph! Does he win the contest? Is this even possible?

Not on a stock bike. Not even a stock busa could do that with nitrous. The only way would be with a really big shot, which would destroy a bike's stock internals. Sure, a 50 shot would be "safe" (as safe as nitrous can be) but it wouldn't get to 260 mph.

I do not kiss and tell but I live in new jersey so however fast it was it wasn't for long bad roads and construction are as plentiful as cars trucks busses and everything in between. Anyway I hope you guys are all wearing the right gear and choosing the area you decide to go to warp
there aint nothin like it

Sure I keep a straight face. That way he keeps everybody entertained. When first hired, he told about his quad being clocked at 120 mph. A few months later, he said he could go 120 mph again but this time he added "in the woods".

maybe if he swapped the front and rear sprockets...
Or even a straight 1:1 final gear ratio...

Seeing as it's considered impressive to break 200mph on the salt flats (still) with a custom built bike I'm inclined to agree with Geoff. No way did he break 260mph.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I think I got to around 95 or so, but it had a good bit left in it. I think I've read 120 or so as my bike's top. That seems gear limited (5k rpm at 60mph); i think I could get 5-10 more miles/hr with a sprocket swap which I want to do.
