No, it was my second time on the big star.jstark47 wrote:Was this your first time on the big Star? How'd you like it compared to the Valkyrie?blues2cruise wrote:I went for a ride with Doc today....as a passenger.
The passenger floorboards on the big star are so much nicer than the foot pegs on the Valkyrie.
I think the Valkyrie was a little easier to get on because it did not have the wraparound back rest and the passenger grips down by the seat.
Other than that, they are both comfortable for a passenger.

Today I has so much fun. First I made a big breakfast of eggs, sausage, and toast. Then I watched this weeks episode of Jericho on the net. Fix and pack lunch and ride to my sisters to talk about our June trip to Cali. When I got there I dropped the bike.
One of those too much brake with the bars all the way to the right things. I jump off, hit the kill switch and try to dead lift it. Next I try the back into it and walk it up with the legs, which works boys and girls. As I walk up to the house Beth steps out the door, points at me and starts laughing. So much for going unnoticed.
Next I go to Home Depot for some floor samples my Mom wants to look at. I'll have to go back tomorrow with the truck because the samples are huge. Off to work then.

People say I'm stupid and apathetic. I don't know what that means, and I don't care.

Well today it all worked out ok, but me and Val dropped the bike today. The cool thing or funny depending on how you look at it, a bunch of young drivers and one bicyclist stopped to help us out. Me and Val were laughing our butts off at dinner tonight because we think they all thought they were saving their own grandma and grandpa's or their parents. Nothing like seeing two 50+ folks fall over on a bike. Anyway we are ok, just a little sore. Bike got some broken parts but we ok so who cares. I can fix or replace the parts.

Being stupid on a hill and in a hurry. I wish there was someting I could blame it on, but it was just me, myself, and I's fault. I am not as strong as I used to be and trying to hold up Val, myself, and a bike at a 22 degree right angle just is more then I can chew.blues2cruise wrote:Why did you drop your bike?
How is everything going for you, I have been reading your blog and it sounds like you are gettting good to go. That is great!

I had a bit of a setback because of the last ride out....A few things happened on the freeway that prior to the crash would not have affected me.....but I started having an anxiety attack....Patrick wrote:Being stupid on a hill and in a hurry. I haven't ridden my bike since then (a week ago), but I did go out with Doc on his bike.
I'll go out again next week when this current cold, windy, stormy weather pattern passes by.
And......I'm still waiting for parts to come in so the dealer can fix the bike properly this time. I think when that gets fixed I will feel better about riding it also.
It doesn't want to shift into first and as I approach a stop, it ends up in neutral and then I have to keep hammering the shifter to get it onto first.
Sometimes when I know it has gone into first, it then pops back into neutral.....
I'll be calling the dealer on Tuesday to find out what is taking so long....

Blues,
It was best that if you were thinking negatively "having an anxiety attack" it was best to take it back home. Good decision. I also agree with getting the bike back to 100% before riding as it is the small things that can get you in trouble. Back to the anxiety attack, it is kind of funny that you mentioned that because I believe in what you think about you bring about and as I was approaching the hill I said to myself "do not pull a Denis" he is a rider I know that has problems with hills. Well there you go, I thought about it and I did it, we went over sure as my name is Patrick. You take it as slow as you want as you had one heck of a reck and it will take time. I know cagers that after a reck do not want to drive and it goes back to the old horse saying, you need to get back in the saddle, but the one caveat I put on that is, learn to walk again before you start running. What's in the head is 95% of the problem or solution. Did not mean to get too phylisphoical <-- spelling, (I need to figure out how to turn spell check on, for this site) on you. Good luck and have fun.

Well today as yesterday I looked to find a turn signal bulb for my bike while getting gas, and don't the gas stations carry bulbs any more? Man I guess I need to go to a parts store just to get a simple turn signal bulb. Oh well. Happy Easter every one, we will have some friends coming over soon to have our leg of lamb.
