Physio and ICBC.....two of the most sadistic and a evil organizations any injured motorcyclist had ever to deal with.......................been there and got the scars to prove it.

Glad to see you are on the mend and riding again Blues.
Always ask why.

Thanks. :) No kidding about the physio guy and ICBC.....the insurance provider is not much better....they send me my disbaility payment, but the rehab services person has an agenda and it doesn't take into consideration my actual ability (or lack thereof)or limitations....

I was riding today......I should have had pontoons though.....

I'll be out again tomorrow for a bit.....I'm going to the Toy Run. I truly hope it is better than today..it was like being in a monsoon today.

I can only ride for a short period of time and then have to take a break....So far an hour is the maximum but that is pushing it a bit. If I ride for a half hour, take a break, then go again., etc., it works better....so far a 3 hour day with some breaks is about my limit....

30th Annual Toy Run

#764 Unread post by blues2cruise »

Sunday October 5, 2008

It was a bit cloudy this morning but soon after arrival at Coquitlam Mall it started to clear up. :D

adVENTUREr and I waited at the Petro Canada on Brunette but the person we were waiting for never showed up. We left at 8am......then we parked out bikes outside Strabucks for almost an hour...hanging around drinking pumpkin spice latte's and yakking to folks....I was wearing a Santa hat so it makes an easy conversation starter for folks.....
We finally moved our bikes to the roadway and parked so as to be in the lineup...I left a message for feliz, but he had left his phone at home.... :P
I spotted bugmagnet and called out to him....he got his bike and joined us on the roadway...
He had gone to the wrong Petro Canada because he didn't read the location in the thread.....and then he went to the wrong Starbucks..... :P

His words now....
I'm a guy...I don't read instructions.

Precisely at 10am the police cars starting blipping their air horns to announce the official mount up and turn em on..... :santa: The 2008 Toy Run has now begun. :rendeer:
We met tattoo and his lady at the PNE . I saw several people from BCSC volunteering their time....actually their were so many volunteers it was remarkable.

It is also so good to have all the municipalities on board for this event. Every cross street had either police or firefighters or other MC club volunteers keeping the route clear and safe. Kudos to all those that volunteer.

It made me feel good to be a part of something so big and especially something that shows that bikers are real and good people. The throngs of people that lined the route waving and clapping and taking pictures brought tears to my eyes.....
(or was that the smoking Suzuki in front of me  ....go get that fixed will ya? )

Here's a few snapshots from this morning. This is adVENTUREr and Bugmagnet....that is my blue V-Star beside them.

The helmetless riders; there were three of them....

Feliz...are you out there? I was standing near the Starbucks when I took these 2 shots. We were supposed to meet up with another person...but he forgot his phone...so we did not manage to connect.....

hack hack hack...I walked outside and almost choked......just outside the building was the smoking room....

Image

I had walked outside to possible snap a few shots....I let bugmagnet know I was going out.....I knew it would be easy for Bugmagnet and adVENTUREr to spot me because almost everyone there was in black...I was wearing a red jacket and a red Santa hat....

This was for the guys who chose not to show...... :P see what you missed?

When we left, we met up with a friend of aV. The 4 of us rode together until bugmagnet left us to go home and the other 3 of us went for lunch.

It was a great day.....and it makes me look forward to the Fraser Valley Toy Run. It is so well organized. When you arrive at the Fraser Valley end destination, there will be tables and chairs and coffee and snacks provided. There will also be door prizes and the usual vendors.

You are an inspiration to both of us because of what you have been thru and have over come.
