MotoF150 wrote:Mr Keith,, I would admit the Mean Streak is a nice looking bike, but for a big 1600cc engine it only has 52HP, and for the same price you can buy a Honda VTX1800 that has 96HP. Don't make the same mistake I made by buying a bike only because it looks good, and look closely how the Kawasaki's are assembled, the cheap brake calipers, cheap tires, the bad welds, then look at the Honda's they are almost perfect.
When you first came here you said you had been banned from the Suzuki forum for bad-mouthing the M50. Now I see why you were really banned . . . because you're a forum troll and an instigator. I'm not even going to argue the things you said because to do so would somehow validate your pointless existence.

just being honest and expressing my opinion, ur just mad cause you own a Mean Streak. Mr Zoo Tech if I could make a suggestion why don't you spend more time riding ur Mean Streak instead of spending 24 hours a day in this forum? I wish someone could of been honest with me before I purchaced my bike and told me its a POS, I would be greatfull. But NOOOOO everybody that owned one lied to me and told me its the greatest bike there is. Now these same people that own the same bike have the same problems, but they have too much pride to admit it, they don't wanta look like a dummy. I gave true facts about the Mean Streak and I gave my honest opinion. The horsepower ratings are on the back page of Motorcyclist Magazine, the bad welds and the cheap brake calipers can be seen by looking at the bike.

Speaking from experience, just because you can see the weld lines, or they look physically rough, it doesn't mean it's a bad weld. It just looks bad, but may in fact be stronger. I've had the chance to look over a most of the big market cruisers up close. Touching and fiddling with them in the dealerships, and at the local biker hangouts (with permission) and if, I say IF I wanted a big bore cruiser I would consider the meanstreak.
Then again if I wanted a high HP bike, I wouldn't be buying a V-twin. That's like buying an I-4 for torque. They make their power in different ways, and V-twins are just naturall suited for torque, there are exceptions, but that is the general rule.
Also, I think it's particularly bad form to hop on here and call someones bike a PoS.

Well, let's see . . . oh yeah . . . I'm a single father! I knew there was a reason why I don't ride nearly as much as I would like to! But I have managed to ride it 14,500 miles in 21 months (an average of 690 miles per month), including the time it spent in the garage when there was snow on the ground. In contrast, I've had my truck for 11 months and have put just under 27,000 miles on it. That's what happens when you have kids to haul around most of the time.

You want honesty? Okay, here goes . . . I hope Mike bans you in less time than it took him to ban BlaZe.

I have heard nothing but praise and fanfare regarding the M50/C50/S50. Again, you're on crack.

Let's have a look at some brake calipers, shall we?
ZX-9R
ZRX-1200
Mean Streak
There's something about those three bikes' brake calipers that I can't quite put my finger on . . . . . . . oh wait . . . . . I see it now! All three are the exact same! Two six-piston Tokico's on the ZX-9R, ZRX-1200, and the Mean Streak. I'm sorry . . . I meant to say
cheap six-piston Tokico's on all three bikes...
As for the welds and HP . . . well . . . need I even bother to go there? Why don't you go wear out another set of tires on your "POS".

I wouldn't bother wasting your time Zoo - obviously Moto knows far more than you ever will...

Are you implying that Keith B should be warned to not buy the Mean Streak because it will turn out to be a POS like your POS? Do you think that both ZooTech and myself are so miserable with our purchase that we want to encourage someone else to go down the crapper with us? And in a different thread you posted...
MotoF150 wrote:I would pick either the Kawasaki Mean Streak or the Honda VTX1800, the Honda 1800 is fuel injection and only $1000 more, around here dealers are selling new 2006 Honda VTX1300C's for $6999, and the VTX1800C for $7999. If you had a chance to test drive both the Honda 1300 and 1800 you would see a BIG difference in power and acceleration, the Mean Streak only has 52 hp but its a nice looking bike and it fits nice, looks good.
There you somewhat make is sound like the Mean Streak would be a fine choice - just a few differences.
Oh, BTW.. The Mean Streak also has fuel injection - duh! At least get your facts straight. Also, although there aren't a lot of listings available for horse power, I found a listing for my 2004 model that shows it getting 73 hp. What gives?!
Keith B wanted to hear from "anyone who has a Mean Streak". That's not to say you can't speak your mind - it's a free world. But you really have no hands-on experience with the Mean Streak to be able to provide a good opinion. So have your opinion... like my brother says,
Opinions are like a$$holes - everybody's got one. Some just smell worse than others.
I really do believe you're trying to get us all fired up about this issue, when it appears to be an issue only to you. Sorry you got screwed on your M50, but it doesn't relate well to this topic on this thread.
Cheers,
Loonette
