I have a 97 Vulcan 800 with cobra pipes and jetted carbs. I get about 35mpg, with a range of about 120 miles before switching to reserve, while riding it hard. I've not done much highway cruising, so I can't comment on mileage there. I do plan to take a long ride fairly soon and was planning to get a http://www.tourtank.com/Tourtank35.html before I go to extend the range.

My Daytona get's right around 35mpg depending on how I ride. Average range is 120 miles before the fuel lights comes on...which means I've used 3.5 of the 5.5 gallons.

VTX-1800S

I get about 120 miles until the light comes on.

The VTX1800 guys with the C or F models (Smaller tanks) get about 20 miles less on a tank than I do.

I ride a ST1300 with a 29.7 liter tank. Last weekend we rode to Wayne near Drumheller and back to Calgary for a total of 468Kms. 23.1 ltrs. We had a headwind all the way back to Airdrie. I have rode past Revelstoke and filled up in a little service station just west. I could probably have made it to Sicamous but I didn't want to chance it. While we weren't riding crazy fast, we did speed a bit. Great smooth riding bike.

I have a 2000 Honda Shadow Spirit 1100 and the mileage ranges from an average of 50 mpg with normal driving to as low as 30 mpg if I'm hauling butt down the interstate (80-85) with a passenger and t-bag. At 50 mpg with a 4.6 gallon tank that translates into 230 miles before I'm walking.

However, I have found that on extended trips, I like to stick to the "hundred mile rule" and start looking to top off when the trip odometer hits 100 from the last fill up. Some buddies thought this was odd until we pushed one of the legs way over 100 and they were whining. Frequent stops keep me sharp.

x2 on hundred mile rule. My bike has a range of about 200 miles before I completely clunks out. But I have no gas gauge, and my mileage sometimes varies. So I play it safe and fill up after 100, since I have to switch to reserve at around 130-140.

At first I thought I'd be annoyed at filling up every 100 mi, but its not bad at all. I can pull up, fill up, and take off before the guy next to be in the SUV has his gas cap off.

Suzuki V-Strom 650

I'm getting over 50 miles to the gallon and with almost 6 gallons in the tank I can get over 250 miles before finding a gas station.

I am getting 30-32 MPG on a 85' ZX-900 Ninja. Usually fill up at 160 miles but it is not quite empty. Have not pushed it to the reserve yet to see how far I can go.
