I don't doubt that most bike shops in this town (and it's a big motorcycle town; I mean, "poo poo", Sonny "procreating" Barger moved here) would fix any bike just on the principle that it means someone would get to ride a little sooner.
Motorcycle shops are in business to make money. Making sure you get to ride sooner is way down on the list of things they worry about.
Making sure I put money in their bucket is how they do both.

That's what most motorcycle shops understand.

Harley Davidson isn't a real motorcycle shop. It's a marketing scam. They don't want other brands of bike around the store because they don't want their suckers catching on that cheaper bikes are just as good.

Exactly why I would never give them a nickel.

Enjoy your tattoo.
The snob in this case is you, but you're just too bent out of shape to realise it. One little incident with a Harley dealer and now you've got a hate-on for the brand and anyone who rides one. Real mature, Blair. Better stick with your broken down Honda, you wouldn't be able to handle a Harley anyway.

I don't have a Harley tattoo, btw, but I do have a sticker on my helmet that applies to people like you. It says: "Save Your Breath For Your Inflatable Doll".

You might want to reread my original post.

I could ride a Harley.

I'm just not giving them any money.

As for "mature", what is calling me a whiner, claiming I'm afraid to ride outside my town, claiming I'm traumatized by the Harley dealer, claiming I hate anyone who rides a Harley, etc., all without any evidence other than your imagination?

The only inflatable doll involved is the one you punch when you can't find anything honest to insult someone over.

Just re-iterating what you posted, it's not that hard to figure out:
blair wrote:But then I remember how the Harley place wouldn't fix my Shadow. Harley places are snobs. Without reason. My money's just as green as any Harley rider's. Moreso, by quite a bit, usually. But Harley sells its culture, and doesn't want to pollute that culture by admitting their product is just a motorcycle.

Sounds like whining to me by someone who had their feelings hurt because a Harley shop wouldn't touch their bike.

As for the maturity, or lack thereof on your part:

If you're going to pre-judge me, I'm going to return the favour. Grow a thicker skin, son.

Haven't begun to insult you yet, nor will I as a moderator on this forum. You, however, may carry on as much as you'd like. With each post you're showing people more of your true character, anyway.

I didn't "pre-judge" you. I judged the Harley places on their merits. And you got all bent out of shape over it and started insulting me, as though it was a personal insult to you and you're the protector of the Hogg image. And now you're flailing, puffing, blustering, and generally making an "O Ring" of yourself because you were caught at it.
Haven't begun to insult you yet, nor will I as a moderator on this forum.
That's a blatant lie and anyone reading this thread knows it.

Maybe someone should re-think your moderator status, considering your behavior here. "Moderator" and "bully" aren't compatible traits.

You remind me of another character who used to frequent here before eventually getting banned for his behaviour. I am not the one blowing this out of proportion, but I'll let the other moderators decide. In the mean time, you SERIOUSLY need to step back and calm down.

See, there you go again. Trying to paint me as needing to calm down.

I've been nothing but patient with your juvenile resort to insulting imagined failings. I've even pointed out how often you do it.

But you don't seem to have any other mode of conversation when you're wrong. You ignore what the other person actually says, and make up things to argue about.

What do you suppose that gets you besides more argument that you can't answer directly?

You need to calm down, and stop expanding the problem you've created for yourself. You can start by walking away from this one.

I could ride a Harley, I don't have any desire ever to pay to do it because I recognize the cynical nature of the Harley business, and you have no cause to be insulted by that or to retaliate irrationally for it.

You do. I'm asking you one more time, nicely. Your last post has taken on the disturbing qualities of a rant and you need to calm down.

You are in total denial. And calling my post a "rant" is just another irrational insult. The "ranting" voice you heard it in was all inside your head. All I did was explain things carefully so you could understand them. But, as I've pointed out, you don't bother with understanding, you just make up your own reality and respond to that.

There are plenty of people here who don't have that problem. I'll be talking to them instead of you from now on. Go ride your bike.

I suggest you do the same. Try not to go near any Harley shops, though.
