My name is Paul and I have been riding for about 8 years. Started out on a sport bike, move to Ducati ST and now just purchased my fist HD, an 04 1200 custom. I love it, I miss the ST, but I really like cruising and it is much safer for speed junky like me to be on a cruiser considering my two little ones at home. Now if I could just find someone to ride with....

Hi All,
Current bike of choice from my garage is a 07 Street Glide. I have been riding since before I learned to walk (Dad's transportation). We (the kids)had a lot of bikes growing up most of them were homemade. His bikes were HD's or Honda's. My dad was the neighborhood mechanic, just imagine what our garage looked like. I grew up overseas so most places it was practical to have a motorbike.

Hey all,

Just got the biker bug a month or so back and have been looking around at the posts here and elsewhere for good ideas and such. Have to say it's been informative to say the least... :) I live in Central Ohio and am looking at getting a Sportster XL 1200C 2001 model from a local H-D dealership. Looking forward to going through the training at the Riders Edge in a couple of weeks and then going out and hittin' the streets (figuratively speaking, of course... )

Just wanted to stop in and say... Hey...

Later... :D

Hey y'all. It's great to be back in the saddle again! Took a hiatus from bikes in 1987 when I sold my last bike (81 FXE Superglide) because I was tired of the idiot cage pilots trying to kill me here in Jacksonville. I don't know what came over me but the bug bit again this year (21 years later) and I bought my 07 FXDC. My wife told me I was going through a mid-life crisis. Maybe so, but when I took the new bike out for the first time, I felt like I had never left. So now it's "knuckles in the wind" again whenever I get a chance. First time the wife rode with me she made comment that she had forgotten how much fun it was. I guess that's a good sign...but then, maybe not...I may end up buying HER a scooter now. :?

:imnewhere: Hi guys and girls(?) I'm Joe I live in Connecticut,I'm 65 years old, I ride a 1995 Softail Custom.I have taken 5 major trips (trips in excess of 3,500 miles) around the country and have ridden to Canada and Mexico and have loved every minute of it no matter what the weather. I usually use my daughter's home in Colorado for a jump off point for trips west of the Mississippi and ride from Connecticut or Florida for east of the Mississippi. I was fortunate enough to ride from Florida to Mexico along the gulf coast pre-Katrina. I'm sure the landscape has been re-arranged. My friends and myself took a 'ride' this past June from Colorado to California and up the Coast Highway to Washington with intentions of visiting Whistler, Banff, Jasper and Glacier National Parks but Mother Nature had other ideas. Snow! As it was it had already snowed on us four times and the temps for the most part were in the mid-30's to mid-40's but ya know what? We had a great time anyway.
Here's me and the ride.Image

My new '09 Sporty 1200 is my first Harley. Love it so far.

I had two other bikes in mind other than the one I ended up with, the Night Train and the Cross Bones but both were out of my price range. My 1200 has plenty of torque and less weight to carry around though.

No mods as of yet, still shopping in the gigantic book of parts and accesories the dealer gave me.
