Yea I'm going through the same thing your friend is, Verm. I've been going to physical therapy for my arm and so far I'm trying to remain optimistic. It's kinda depressing when you can barely move your fingers... but.. *fingers crossed*. My friend's dad just got a Ninja 250, and I'm sure he would let me ride it. I am just really not sure whether I'm "ready" again...
AND we are approaching page 10.

George: Shut up Lenny, you're too stupid for a dog.
Lenny: At least I'm not an @ssoff.

I don't really know anything about racing form. I was just analyzing the physical situation, but if you got compliments and it works well for you, go for it! I went down on gravel this weekend also. Not cool. But I know how it feels. Hope to be up and riding by this weekend, we'll see how that works.
Don't worry about the scratches, it gives the bike character!

You should just grab a handful of the stuff and keep it in your pocket so in the event of a problem ie burning your toast or spelling a word wrong you can just throw the gravel on the ground and blame it.
lol my kinda a humour

Verm - you should lead the ride if you're going out with other folks you don't know. Don't worry about riding too slow for them, if you're in the back of the pack - and they ride too fast for you that's BadJuju(tm). Don't go riding that gixxer off a cliff trying to hang w/ more experienced riders on a ride - lead at a pace you're comfortable with. Chances are the other guys won't mind if it's slower than their usual pace.
