Yes you did. And I, for one, am glad that I'm wearing these tactical boots.Anthony wrote:..Regardless, I believe I communicated successfully.
But then you said:Anthony wrote:I had just pulled over and told my dad you have to try this bike, he had to push it a little on rt. 95.
I'm not intentionally trying to accuse you of BS but this story is a little out there. I was a cop and I'm certified by NHTSA to run radar. I have a hard time believing a cop would just throw out arbitrary numbers like that and then issue your dad a citation for it. He doesn't know what your father's profession is; he could be a lawyer and the cop would just be showing his hand and letting your father know that he never got your speed verified on radar. We may be trained to guesstimate your speed, but our eyes aren't calibrated and our "guesses" aren't admissible in court.Anthony wrote:Yea, the officer didn't know how fast my father was going. He just saw it was fast. He guessed 100. My dad said 80, so he said, okay I'll right it up at 90.
which means your dad should have no trouble getting off for hte speeding ticketdamooster wrote:or you just encountered one of the worst cops on the planet.
Even though I think someone should be punished for speeding in this situation, you could absolutely dispute this ticket and win. I've been to court countless times to defend tickets only to lose on some minor, minute technicality. Almost all tickets are thrown out for technical reasons, and this ticket is screaming it. If the speed wasn't detected on radar, the judge should throw the ticket right out. If I were the cop I wouldn't even show up; the judge would rip in to him like there's no tomorrow.storysunfolding wrote:which means your dad should have no trouble getting off for hte speeding ticket
