I know he's just baiting me. But I feel like a big ol' fish sometimes!
Well in that case he's gotta large mouth bass on the line! 8)
Yee-Haw - that was cute!!

It would actually take a lot for MotoF150 to get outright banned. Mike is a pretty tolerant person (more so than I could be with some). The best tact to take is to ignore him (see how well I did!!).

Cheers,

73 HP makes sense, seeing my 1100 has 60 HP

Yeah, here is the dyno for the Meanie:
http://www.motorcycle.com/mo/mckaw/mcph ... ndyno.html

Max Power = 64.3 hp @ 5,600 rpm
Max Torque = 74.3 ft/lbs @ 2,900 rpm

Those are at the wheels, so 73 hp sounds about right at the crank, and probably around 85 ft/lbs.

74.3 ft/lbs from 2,900rpms is great! Gobs of "seat of your pants" acceleration fun.

That is about the same horsepower as my Interceptor, but double the torque... sounds like a good time to me!

And that's from a 2002 model, before the bump in displacement.

The '04's and up are 1600cc (1552) and are rated at 94ft/lbs at the crank. Once I get the Caddman Kit installed, along with the TFI, we'll see what it cranks out when I put it on a dyno.

I didn't mean to get everybody upset, I know nothing about the Mean Streak, just what I read about it. I was addressing Mr Keith by telling him not to get opinions about a bike from owners of the same bike. Most owners will say they love the bike they own only because they don't wanta look stupid. I know most people have some problems with the bike they own they don't like about it. I was informing Mr Keith to buy a bike he likes, think for himself. I made that mistake, I made a mistake of listening to everybody and taking their advice and I ended up with a bike that has been nothing but problems since I owned it. Last year when I wanted to buy a new bike I wanted either a Honda or a Yamaha 1100, but everybody told me the Suzuki was better. I made a mistake, now im kicking myself for not buying the Honda or the Yamaha. Now im stuck with my Suzuki, the trade in value is only $2700, so im stuck with a bike I don't like. I was just being honest and trying to help, I never said the Mean Streak is a POS, I just say don't believe what everybody tells you about a certain bike, think for yourself people will always tell you the good things about their bike but never tell you the bad things about it. I came in this forum to find other owners of the same bike I own and talk honestly about the common problems, what to do, how to fix and so on.

And where did you read all these negative reviews?

I absolutely love my bike and have had zero problems with it. Where should Keith look to for input about a specific bike, someone who doesn’t have any experience with it? That’s absurd! I suppose there are a few people out there that would be embarrassed to admit that their bike had problems, but I’m the type that’ll tell you right up front if there’s anything to watch out for.
MotoF150 wrote:I was informing Mr Keith to buy a bike he likes, think for himself.
I believe Keith is fully capable of thinking for himself, has narrowed down his choices, and is now seeking first-hand input from owners of the models that he is considering.

You make it sound as though those people wished these problems on you. I’m tellin’ ya, if your story is at all true, you’ve got a lemon on your hands that is not representative of the bike or brand as a whole.

Kelly Blue Book lists your bike at $3,615.00 for trade-in and $5,245.00 for retail or private sale. Quit exaggerating everything in an attempt to strengthen your pointless arguments.

No, just that it has cheap brakes and tires along with shoddy welds. I don’t think the Mean Streak earned its reputation as being the best handling and braking cruiser on the market with cheap tires and brakes.
