yea, the st georges bridge. Its kinda neat looking.

As far as rt 9 being scenic, i'd say it is. for Delaware.

Only cause they wouldn't (at first) concede to the demands to become a state... Then when Mexico threatened to invade and take back it's land, they decided that they'd be stronger if they had the entire US behind it... and it worked, Mexico never did invade...

What was the Alamo all about then? Wasn't that a battle between Mexico and Texas?

That was when they were first trying to win their independence... The Alamo was one of the first places to take a stand against Mexico, and the Mexicans ended up smashing it, literally, none of the original Alamo exists today, just replicas. That's why we have "Remember the Alamo!", because it was used as a rally cry to get the Texans to take a stand against the "cruel" Mexicans...

The Alamo wasn't the only battle ever fought in Texas, just the most famous. Texas history was a class is students took for years and years, including high school. We went on a lot of field trips to missions, and the Alamo was only one of them.


Of course Texas wouldn't conceed right off the bat. Would you expect any less?


Fun fact: The Nueces River in Corpus Christi was to be the US border. I grew up on the Nueces, my folks still live there. Anyway, good thing Mexico didn't win. Our house would be one of the party places, like Tijuana!

Weird thought, speaking of party towns. When the Mexican states of Yucatan, Quintana Roo, and Campeche ( or rather the areas that would become those states ) wanted independance from Spain they tried to ally themselves with the US, now just imagine if the US controlled those present day areas.

Just Cancun, The Mayan ruins and the oil would make it worth it.
